"The house was recently purchased. It's over 150 years old and had been neglected for quite a long time. The building inspector listed pointing as the most urgent exterior repair. The house is not large but the amount of repair and pointing was extensive. Quinn Brothers was selected for the work from a short list of competitors whose cost estimates were similar. Quinn Brothers was selected because Patrick Quinn spent the most time familiarizing himself with the project and making suggestions about options. The quality of work Quinn Brothers did is top-notch. The crew worked steadily and the job was completed in the timeframe promised. Communications were excellent throughout the project, with prompt notices from Patrick about how the job was progressing and prompt responses to my texts. More masonry work is needed at the house and Quinn Brothers will be doing that work, too."

"I had a drainage system installed in my back yard. Carlos showed up on time. When he and his crew left you could barley tell that there was any work was done. There was absolutely no sign of any digging. It was that thorough! Excellent work!!! Heavy rain followed and the system worked!!"

"I bought their deal for 6 person-hours of labor. I told Bob, the owner, that I needed a small bathroom vanity installed (and the old one removed). He said that would probably take a little over 2 hrs (which would equal 2 people for 1 hour or 1 person for 2 hours. I told him that for the balance of the time (presuming that with 2 men it would take no more than 4 of the 6 person-hours) I had a leaky tub faucet, a ceiling patch that needed to be painted over, and other small tasks if there was time. An hour into the job they said they needed to get something at Home Depot, about 10 minutes away. They both went, and were gone for 45 minutes. About an hour later they said they needed another pipe and needed to go back to Home Depot. I offered to go so they could stay and work on the ceiling patch, but they said they didn't know they might need a sander so didn't have one with them. They again both went to HD for 45 minutes. When they left, after a total of TEN person-hours if you include the time they took for 2 HD runs, they didn't say anything about extra charges. I had given them $13 in cash for the part they needed, and they finished the job and left. I was disappointed that they spent the whole time only installing the vanity but understood they'd run into some obstacles. Two hours after they left, they showed up at my door with Bob, the owner, who was insisting that I owed him for 4 extra person-hours plus materials reimbursement. I pointed out that they hadn't said the time at HD would be added to the labor hours I'd already purchased, and that I'd offered to go to HD so they could stay and work. Bob said that I should've had the materials already so they wouldn't have had to go out. If they didn't know what pipes and valves they needed, how could they expect that I would know that?? My husband and I argued with Bob for some time, and he didn't directly answer our question of why both guys needed to go to HD, using our paid time, and why they had to do this twice instead of adequately assessing the job and needing only one store run. We ended up paying him the extra $145 he was requesting, because the argunent was clearly going nowhere, but we felt pretty scammed by the whole thing. I had expected to have to be home on my day off for 3 hours, but ended up having to stay home for 5 hours, and I'd chosen Rovase because of the $180 for 6 hours deal. We will not use this vendor again.

"I contacted them via email and told them the scope of the work and requested a quote. I received a response the next day asking for the location of the property. I received an email the following day that they unfortunately did not service my area. When I asked if they could refer me to a company who did, I did not get a response."

"Brian ran into some unforeseen complications on a previous job causing our job to be delayed slightly.  On our project, they arrived early and got straight to work.  Brian and his team are very hard workers - they get a lot accomplished quickly. They cleared brick walkways and disposed of all the brick materials.  Graded all the area and put up the forms for the concrete.  They laid sod down where some of the walkways were which we eliminated.  The concrete work went smoothly and looks great.  They were very neat and cleaned up the entire area each day before leaving.  Brian is courteous and hard working and truly cares about his customers satisfaction."

"Originally hired Nick and the Creative Pavers team several years ago to design and install a complete backyard hardscape/landscape package including a paver patio, walkway, steps, lighting, wood deck, and fire pit.  At the time they were not active on Angie's List, so consider this a review of my entire relationship with them now and going back 5 years or so.  I can't begin to say enough about how great they have been.  Their original design and installation was exceptional, and they're follow-up and diligence to meeting they're original schedule commitment was great.  I was so pleased, I bought them back again several months later for another smaller job building a retaining wall and planter in my front yard.

Since those originals installs I have called them back twice for some minor maintenance and settling repairs.  Should point out the repairs were not needed due to poor quality of work, and were nothing more than the typical wear and tear/weather/settling issues you'd expect after 5 years.  Nick and Jack have consistently provided the same level of outstanding service and follow-up throughout our entire relationship.  Relationship is the operative word here, they are most definitely not your typical "here today, gone tomorrow" contractor.  They truly care about their customers and reputations and it shows in every interaction.  I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a hardscape/landscape project.

FAQs for sod installation projects in Vineland, NJ

Seeding costs less up front, but you’ll wait months—and sometimes a full season—for the grass to fill in. Sod costs more per square foot, yet it gives you an instant, usable lawn the day it’s installed and needs far less care during the first year.

If speed and early curb appeal matter, the higher sod price is often worth it; if you’re watching every dollar and don’t mind the wait, seed can still be a smart play.

Start by sketching your lawn and breaking it into rectangles or circles. Measure each section, multiply length by width, and then add all the sections together for the total square footage. Standard sod rolls are two feet by 1.5 feet, and one pallet covers 450 square feet.

Divide your total area by 450 to see how many pallets you need, then round up—extras come in handy for cutting around curves or mistakes. Still unsure? A local sod supplier or installer can confirm your math before you order.

Most sod grips the soil within 10 to 14 days. During that stretch, keep foot traffic to a minimum and mow only if the grass gets tall. After two weeks, the roots should be strong enough for light use, but wait six weeks before heavy play or frequent mowing. Giving the grass that short honeymoon helps it anchor firmly and sets the stage for a durable, healthy lawn.

Give your new lawn two full weeks before any foot traffic, then stick to light use only. Hold off on vigorous play, parties, or regular mowing until the six-week mark so the roots can dig deep. Keep watering on schedule and watch for any dry patches. A little patience now means stronger turf and fewer repairs later.

Keep an eye on color, moisture, and even growth. Fresh sod should stay uniformly green; brown spots or gaps hint at dry soil or poor contact. Water deeply at least once a day for the first week (more in hot weather) and back off gradually after the roots take. Avoid heavy foot traffic until the grass feels firmly anchored. Quick attention to trouble spots now prevents costly patches later.

Aim for spring or early fall when daytime temps hover between 55°F and 80°F. Mild weather and consistent moisture help the roots knit quickly. Laying sod in midsummer can stress the grass, while frozen winter soil blocks rooting altogether.

If you must install outside the ideal window, budget extra time for watering and tending to the turf. Choosing the right season makes the job easier and the lawn tougher.
