"We were moving back into the area & hired Carpet Hut over the phone because of reviews on Angie's List. They were great about getting out to our house, measuring, etc. The carpet was all finished by the time we moved into our house. It is so nice to know that the carpet is brand new! Our experience was great & we would definitely recommend them!"

"It was a filthy carpet in an upstairs duplex apartment that we own. We were not sure it would clean up. Dycarp cleaned it beautifully and it looks almost  brand new. Highly recommend them. <br />"

"The technician was prompt when arriving for the walk-thru and estimate. Matt was amazing when he cleaned our carpet! He took steps above and beyond to ensure we had a good customer experience. He was helpful, knowledgeable and had a nice dry sense of humor. Who knew? Our light carpet hasn't been cleaned in over 6 years, and we live with pets, and Matt's magic made it seem brand new! All this plus a great value and fair price. I highly recommend!"

"They owners/managers were very professional and prompt. They showed up on time to give me the quote and when I went into the showroom, they assisted me in picking out exactly the type of carpet that would fit my needs and price range. They were very nice and I didn't feel like I was "getting sold" on any particular type of carpet (which was the impression I got from some of the other carpet places I visited). We had a slight problem with the actual installers, however. They were late to the job and didn't bring a vacuum (theirs was broken), so when our furniture came the next day we still had little carpet balls everywhere. Our carpet has also pulled up in one corner, although to be fair, that might be the work of one of our cats... We would use this company again because it wasn't a big deal that they were late and their price was so good. The lack of vacuuming bothered me, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was an isolated occurrence (they were apologetic about it)."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Virginia Beach, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
