"We removed the wood paneling in the basement shortly after moving in.  That's when we noticed 13 cracks in the foundation.  None of them structural issues.  They came in and repaired all of them in one day.  A couple of them were difficult to get to due to stairs and piping, but they did a great job on all of them.

I trust Mike to do all of our future masonry work in the future.  We are currently (4/11/2014) putting together plans for a front wrought iron automated gate with concrete pillars and widening the entry to our driveway.  I won't use anybody else.  His prices were fair and he really is a nice guy after getting to know him on the projects he has finished on our dream house.  Thanks Mike!!!

"They first gave a fairly detailed quote, then in about a month came back to do the work.  They use a pier system and do all the excavation by hand so it does not tear up the yard.  Takes a little longer but in the end i was very good work.  Had to add on a lot of pipe, that should have been noted on the contract and agreed to before it was done, but in the end they only charged for the actual pipe used to pier to foundation.  Very good at clean up.  Recommend them highly if you want a fair and honest job.

"Once we could get good weather for three day with not too much rain before doing the work it was clock work. Demolition on Tuesday and installation of foundation boards and leveling and tamping of foundation we were ready for the pour on Wednesday morning. Started pouring around 10:30 and had the pour complete a little after noon. His finishers work until about 4, put in the correct amount of joints both vertical and horizontal and applied a broom finish. Tony put on the seal coat on Wednesday afternoon and was back on Thursday morning with top soil to fill in the edges. Minimal disruption to yard was done. My original drive was 42 years old and I know that this will outlast the original because it was done correctly with proper joints. I highly recommend Tony and will use him again if and when my patio needs to be replaced. He install a curb on the back of the turn around at no additional cost as a safety precaution, something that I asked if could be done. Final cost was about $7.20 per sq foot. This included all demo work, demolition of old drive, hauling away of old concrete, additional sub gravel (10 yards), 4000psi concrete with fiber, proper jointing with broom finish (my request..he can do anything you want), seal coat and top soil fill. No litter, no debris and a great crew. Very pleased with the quality of work and Tony was great to work with. Did everything he said he would and more. Use Tony and you will get an excellent result,"

"I began using Moore Construction Services about 12 years ago for my garage roof and the flat roof over my upstairs front porch based on the recommendation of a co-worker.  I got three estimates (one was way too low so I knew the job would not be good - you get what you pay for!).  Moore's & the third company were only $50 apart but I decided on Moore's becuase of the way their representative was into restoration instead of demolition.  I was very pleased with their work and their workmen so the following spring, they re-roofed my entire house.  This is a very honest company - when they found that there was "wood shake" under only part of the roof, they came down on the price - there aren't many companies who would even bother to tell the homeowner that they didn't have to do as much work as they originally thought.  So two years ago, I asked them to replace/repair my crumbling concrete steps, both in the front of the house and in the rear plus replace the wooden stairway at the rear of the house.  I felt their cost estimates, while high, were acceptible and in-line with other companies.  This year, even though I did not win the lottery, I knew it was time to either replace or repair the garage - I had made as many repairs as I could myself.  Gorilla glue held the entry door on for about two years but it was a struggle.  I knew I would hire Moore's again - no other estimates were needed because I knew they would give me a fair price and do excellent work.  The cost of repairing and renovating the garage was much cheaper than building a new garage and dealing with variance issues (zoning has changed a bit since the garage was originally built!).  I love dealing with family owned businesses - they take a personal interest and pride in their work.  I was not disappointed - the garage looks brand new!  The only part left to complete is installation of new shutters on the garage windows which will be done as soon as the shutters arrive.  I would never deal with any other company for my construction needs.

FAQs for concrete foundation installation projects in Waldron, IN

A concrete footer is a relatively shallow column of concrete that sits below your foundation walls. Footers spread wider than the foundation, so they can support a higher amount of weight in critical spots, such as below walls. The exact dimensions of footers depend on the home, so larger structures need a larger footing.

To calculate footing size, you need to know the minimum width and depth for houses in your region. Multiplying the width by the linear footprint of the structure will give you the size in linear feet.

To convert linear feet into square feet, you can divide the width by 12. For example, an 18-inch footer is 1.5 square feet per linear foot. Multiply this number by the total in linear feet to get the answer in square feet.

Installing a pier and beam foundation costs $5 per square foot, or $8,000 to $15,000. This style is standard in homes built before the 1960s or those in flood-prone areas.

Concrete weight support ranges from 1,500 to 6,500 pounds per square inch, and footings need at least 3,500 to 4,500 pounds per square inch. Remember that your soil type, climate, and materials used will significantly affect how much weight your footings can hold, especially in certain areas.

It costs between $1,600 and $3,200 to pour a 20-by-20-foot concrete slab. These estimates are based on an average cost to pour a concrete slab of $4 to $8 per square foot. Be sure to discuss the specifics with a pro—they’ll give you an estimate of how much you can expect.

The cost to raise a house is between $3,200 and $10,000. This range refers to a form of repair that involves lifting the entire house to potentially remove the old foundation and build a new one or add to an existing one.
