"We reached out and were able to coordinate Francisco coming out for a quote. Got a quote that day. We decided to move forward a few days later and they started that week. The process was very quick and easy. Francisco made sure to ask about colors and finish that we wanted, and listened to all of the details we specified originally (like rounded edges). "Our front steps to our porch had seemed to settle, and there were cracks and gaps all over. Knowing we were going to have to rebuild them, we called VA Brick Dr first based on reviews. He even had us send him some pictures over text later in the day so he could start to give us an idea of what we were looking at. He came out the next day and examined our steps. He took a good long look at them and realized only one step had actually shifted, the rest of the steps and base were as they should be. He recommended only rebuilding the one step since everything else was measured correctly. Thrilled with that assessment, we had him do the work. I have no doubt other companies would have looked and just told us to rebuild the whole step structure, but he really took the time to make sure he gave us his honest opinion. About a month later he came and did the repair (weather kept delaying), and the end result came out better than we had hoped. He cleaned up the steps and joints all over, and looks good as new."

"Chuck Hipp and his employee, Antonio, did a phenomenal job! The brick fireplace was sinking and the bricks were separating from the wall. After investigation Chuck determined that there were no footers under the fireplace. He installed new footers, supported the brick wall and reattached all the bricks and suggested the fireplace be covered with stucco and tiles to match the Spanish style of the house. The fireplace turned out beautifully and became the true focal point of the living room. The house was listed for sale and I know the beautiful stucco fireplace helped to sell the home quickly. We moved to our new 1948 house and discovered that the chimney needed to be rebuilt. I received a bid from A Step in Time chimney sweeps which was astronomical. I then consulted a structural engineer who confirmed the bid was outrageously high. He recommended a good brickmason be consulted. I found Chuck Hipp and Hipp Masonry Works on Angies List. Chuck investigated the problem and determined that the chimney needed to be torn down and rebuilt at the roof line and he was able utilize new bricks with old bricks to match the new chimney addition to the existing home and bottom half of the chimney. He asked me to drive around and take photos of chimneys I liked and he would duplicate it. I found a chimney on a beautiful older home and Chuck was able to duplicate it to suit my brick, Tudor home. It is gorgeous and best of all the fireplace can now be used for a beautiful wood fire. He then removed and replaced all the broken, damaged bricks throughout the exterior of the house using mainly old bricks salvaged room the chimney rebuild. Chuck and Antonio did incredible work and at half the price of the previous bid. Before they left they brought in topsoil to fill in any holes in our lawn due to the work and they used soil to regrade the back of the house which had been the cause of damage to lower bricks. They also repointed the front steps and remortered the boxes for the exterior porch lights which were hanging loose from the brick exterior. I will only call the HippMasonry Works for any brick work."

"Highly recommended!  I contracted with Brick Solutions owner, Joe Walls, to have a badly damaged concrete driveway replaced with brick pavers.  I had previously gotten estimates for replacing the driveway with new concrete but I was concerned about damaging the roots of a very old tulip poplar tree adjacent to the driveway.  When the concrete contractor informed
me if he didn?t cut the roots he couldn?t guarantee the concrete but if he did cut the roots he could not guarantee the tree would survive, I decided to go with brick.
Joe said he could do the driveway without damaging the roots.  He broke up the old concrete with a jackhammer rather than bringing in heavy equipment.  We consulted with an arborist who told Joe what could or could not be cut.  When our plan to save a portion of the old concrete did not work out because it was too cracked Joe volunteered to break it up and replace it
with brick at no extra charge.  He worked carefully, followed all out suggestions, and managed to give us a smooth brick
driveway that looks much better than what we had before.
In short, Brick Solutions did a great job for a reasonable price and it was pleasure to work with Joe.
