"Radon level was 11.5 before remediation and .24 after, so the result could not have been better. The installer, Dave, was first class from start to finish and owner Marc graciously adjusted his schedule to fit me in sooner as I requested. My only complaint was the price, and only because the home inspector who tested the radon levels told me the cost would be $800 to $1,500. My realtor said about $1,000."

"Scott performed an entire home inspection and radon test in addition to contracting a termite specialist to assist in the inspection. The experience was very professional and informative for wife and I as we are purchasing a home for the first time. He provided a package of information that will be useful to us throughout this process, which was very thouightful. I would highly recommend the company to anyone in the market. It doesn't get any better."

"<br />Truly an outstanding job, from the first call to customer service to the invoice. The inspector Jim Hayes was professional and knowledgeable. His report was detailed and the documents were on time. They thought about everything needed and they do an excellent job. They make everything easy for you, the realtor, the loan officer and even the sellers. I recommend this home inspection 100%."

"Home Inspection and Radon Test.  Nick is A#1+++. From the call to set up a test dated, Nick returned  my call promptly and explained what would be done and all costs. No hiden cost or problems. Arrived right on the appointment inspection time and went right to work. Out side home inspection, roof top inspection of second and first floors roofs. Moved inside and pointed out problem areas as he went along.  Basement and first floor radon test also. Inspection on a Friday, emailed detailed report on Saturday morning with many pictures and suggestions of what to do to correct problems. I would most definitely use and recommened Nick again and to anyone else."

"I thought  it went very well. The inspector, Jim, provided all the services i contracted for.  I received the online home inspection report the next day. It included pictures and a synopsis "of the improvements and safety issues that should be budgeted for or repaired over the short term. This includes structural defects or concerns, anything significantly affecting habitability, and items that are harmful or dangerous to the occupants, due to their presence or absence in the structure."  This synopsis gave a a true picture of the condition the house was in.  The radon test 4.3 results showed that the basement was above the 4.0 EPA guidelines and would require remediation. The insect inspection result showed no problem and the air quality test showed minimal mold growth and normal air results in the majority of the tested items.   Unfortunately, the seller was unwilling to address the important issues uncovered by this home inspection and as a result I terminated the sale.  Though it cost me over $600 for these inspections (which is pretty standard apparently), I did receive a 5% discount by paying cash.  I estimate that it actually saved me many thousands in the long run had I actually went ahead with the purchase and so I think it was money well spent. <br />"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Warrington, PA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
