"After I submitted the project, George called me within a few hours. He scheduled an appointment — an actual time, not a range — the next day and arrived on time. He reviewed the proposed work with me, pointing out various aspects of it that aligned with another proposed contractor. He then gave me an official written quote on the spot. It was lower than quotes, and it was for a definite amount, again, not a range. The foreman came by the next day to get the specifics so he could buy the necessary materials, and work commenced that afternoon. The project took three days, slightly under what they anticipated. The team arrived and left on time, and the areas were tidied up each time. They were also professional and friendly. Unfortunately, they discovered something that had not been done during the home’s original renovation, which George and Jim discussed with me. It was beyond what I wanted to do at the time, but we were able to settle on something that they thought would get the job done and I could agree to. They were excellent at explaining various aspects of the job like this, and I felt comfortable with their recommendations. They also accomplished additional two small tasks, one of which I mentioned I needed to do at a future date, and one that they observed. Both were done under the original agreement, which I appreciated. I definitely plan to use Louise August (a family business) for any projects that arise within their areas of expertise because it was a very good experience."

Louise August Home Improvements started the work immediately, advised on the additional requirements (fireplace repointing) and the garage roof. They were professional, thorough, worked efficiently and expeditiously, and were kind, thoughtful, and kept me informed throughout the project. "Spent ~$50,000 on a new roof with them. Thought everything went well. Years later discovered that they had not sealed the cricket on the chimney well enough. Discovered water coming in and eventually rotting the wallboard, studs, etc. Had to replace entire wall. Called them about the issue, they sent a rep. He said it was the chimney's fault, it was leaking. Not so, opened the wall and ceiling and had another roofer come spray water on the chimney, nothing, no leak. Then sprayed water on the cricket, water came in. Exterior Medics would not admit any fault. Had it repaired, no leak, no problem since then. Had recommended to a friend, never gain, he also had a bad experience. DO NOT USE IF YOU WANT QUALITY WORK AND A COMPANY HAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR WORK."

"We were looking to increase our attic insulation and met The Home Doctor Company at the Capital Remodel and Garden Show in February 2025 as well as some other companies. We consulted with several companies and decided to go with The Hone Doctor for our attic insulation. The company rep, Chris Lear, was very good explaining what they would do and why our attic needed R-38 insulation. I knew we needed more but did not realize our attic was only R-13. I have worked with numerous contractors before on projects and felt this was a really good company plus they have great reviews. The installation of the attic insulation went very well. They do install siding as well but decided to put this project off for now. Would highly recommend this company."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Shawn from Superior Damage Restoration to address a persistent water leak issue in my penthouse duplex unit. The problem was that water was seeping through from under the flooring and down the stairs whenever it rained. Previous contractors had incorrectly suggested that the issue was with the balcony door. Shawn and his team provided a comprehensive explanation of the root cause and took a thorough approach to resolve it. They removed the damaged flooring, waterproofed the balcony door, and even assisted with moving furniture around during the process. Despite their initial efforts, the issue persisted, but they didn't give up. Using thermal devices, they identified that the water was actually coming from the rooftop, down the wall frame studs, and into the floor. Once the true source was identified, they promptly waterproofed the rooftop, and after the next rain, I was relieved to see that no water came through.
