"Dave Jensen and his son Dave built and expanded an amazing deck. This project started after I had my portch rebuilt about one Month ago. Dave handled all the details, planning, lumber delivery, and installation of 2 Helical piles for proper support. This deck is built out of composite material with hidden fasteners. ALL the railing, 4x4s, 2x2s, 1x2s etc. in the picture are Cedar. This was done by Dave and we stayed within the budget. Anyone who know a little about wood knows Cedar is more expensive, but also a better choice and better weather resistant. Daves decades of finish carpentry work can be seen in the finished product. Both Dave and his Son Dave have attention to detail, take pride in their work, and show integrity. Its going to very difficult to find someone to take the time and build a quality project like this. My wife and I will be contacting Jensen Construction for our next project. Pictures to be attached soon. Thanks Guys."

"It was very good. They were helpful, worked hard, and I was very satisfied with them. But I just hope that they have more equipment to help with the moving, other than that they were great."

"Three very pleasant young men showed up. They laid down red tracks/rugs to keep the house clean then efficiently moved our boxes and furniture inside.  They went over and above what I was expecting by giving us our three 6' high x 8' deep wooden crates that housed our items, notifying us that they actually belonged to us if we wanted them. We jumped at the opportunity for the extra storage. They arranged them where we asked so that they created a privacy wall of sorts and we have since painted them and had them roofed and secured for storage.  We hope that they come by to play instruments with us some time, as discussed. :)"

"Paul's team did a fine job taking down everything I'd asked them to. They did their work before the trees had leafed out, but they were still able to suggest which trees to keep (lilac, birch, spruce) and which to remove. They trimmed stumps close to the ground and also cleaned up debris that the previous landowner had left behind (deadfall, high stumps, branches). They chipped everything and - at my request - left the chips for my use in landscaping. Afterwards, they picked up all the twigs and blew the yard and drive clean of leaves."

FAQs for waste, junk, building materials and debris removal and hauling projects in Wasilla, AK

To throw out stained, broken, or infested mattresses or couches, call a junk hauler or take it to your local landfill yourself. If it’s infested with pests, you might want to call a pest control specialist near you. If you have infested furniture, there's a good chance you have an infested home, too.

Tipping furniture removal services is not mandatory, but it is a thoughtful way to acknowledge their hard work and professionalism. If you're pleased with the service, consider tipping junk haulers 5% to 10% of the total cost or $10 to $20 per worker. This is especially appreciated when the job involves heavy lifting, navigating stairs, or handling bulky items. Tipping not only rewards the workers for a job well done but also fosters a positive working relationship.

If your furniture is in good condition, you have a few options:

  • Donate to charities: Organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and GreenDrop often accept furniture donations and may offer free pickup services.

  • List online: You can list your items for free on local online marketplaces or community groups to find someone who needs them. Giving away your furniture not only helps you clear space but also benefits others in your community.

The cost to haul away junk depends on the haul’s size. A single item costs $60 to $150 to haul, with each additional item adding $20 to $40 to the total price. Hauling away a full truckload of trash or other junk will run $400 to $800.

Yes, some furniture retailers will haul away your old furniture when they deliver your new items. This service may be included in your purchase price or offered at a discounted rate. It's important to check with the store to see if they provide furniture removal and whether there are any requirements, such as a minimum purchase. Utilizing this service can save you time and effort in disposing of your old furniture.

In many cases, you can dispose of furniture in a dumpster, but regulations vary by location. Some areas prohibit items like mattresses or upholstered furniture due to environmental concerns. It's best to check with your local waste management authorities or dumpster rental company to understand what's allowed.
