"Steve Norfolk and his crew dug down to the footing and applied the waterproof material a section at a time.  The original plan was to dig the entire area first and then apply the waterproof material all at the same time.  However daily torrential rains turned the area into a sea of mud, so he decided to do it a section at a time to minimize problems associated with the rain.  He had to break up a concrete slab (porch) for 1/2 the front, and approximately 25 feet of driveway next to the house.  Progress was slow due to the rain and mud, but Steve steadfastly pursued the completion of the job despite the setbacks.  Although justifiably discouraged by the rain and lack of progress, he exhibited a positive "can do" attitude and kept at it.  The finished product was professionally done.  Backfill and all concrete were properly completed, and grass seed applied.  Steve is a conscientious professional who knows his business and can be relied upon to do the work he says he will accomplish.  I would use him again in a heartbeat.

"Marcos, an experienced mason himself, measured the patio area carefully and assured us that the original, 2-level brick work could be transformed into a single-level patio which would slope unnoticeably and match the levels of the surrounding ground, the side gate to the driveway, and the lower fence line. He was the only contractor who offered that result. And that's what he and his crew were able to accomplish. Marcos also suggested a herringbone brick pattern inside a brick border design, which turned out to be terrific recommendations. He also talked me out of a particularly dumb idea of mine before it was put into concrete. On the job, the foreman/bricklayer was a real professional who worked with two helpers.Their primary language was Portuguese, but they spoke English well enough to communicate. Besides, Marcos visited the site daily and was there for all major decisions. The crew was punctual (within 3 minutes), courteous, very hard working, and expert with the project. The finished product (farewell forever messy brick on sand) is a thing of beauty and it will be our joy as long as we own our home."
