"I made an appointment with McDonagh to install a faucet, as I had a new sink installed with new countertops. Another company installed the sink and countertops but could not reconnect the faucet, and they told me that's all that needed to be done. When McDonagh got here they realized that this was not a simple faucet reconnection, but I needed new pipes, a reconnection of the disposal, and I had some parts missing from the previous installation, etc. Instead of a quick half hour job they were looking at 3 hours of work. They had another important job to get to, but since it was Friday they didn't want to leave me without water in the kitchen for the entire weekend till they could come back. They completed my job while constantly fielding calls to keep the other job going and on time, trying to keep two customers happy. I very much appreciated the effort as they could easily, and accurately, have told me that they were not given enough information to schedule the time needed to complete my job. "Rardins has merged with Mattex Plumbing, but Oscar Rardin is still with them. Very professional, both over the phone and kept me updated through texts on the phone. Showed up as promised and was done within 3 hours. Only real difference was in how prices have inflated since 2014 (last time pump was replaced) $1400 vs $500 The pump accounted for over $1200 of that total. Oscar did a excellent job!"

"It went very well.  Despite the fact that I live in Tennessee and this company is in Boston, they helped me a great deal.  I can't remember what I actually paid them, but it seemed reasonable for what I got:  unlimited access to the decorator's assistance.   I had already chosen some of the elements needed for my bathroom remodel, but got bogged down over colors/curtains/light fixtures at the end.  I just needed some help in tying everything together.
Their decorator (Amanda Zettel) and I worked mainly through Pinterest;  I made a board of my bathroom, using pictures of what I'd chosen already, and she sent me links to items that she thought I would like in categories that I needed.  We also talked over the phone several times, and emailed, too.  I believe Homemade Design will also help you with vendors and purchasing, though I didn't use that service.  Amanda did send me to some new websites, and I chose my bathroom lights from one of them.  Amanda helped me choose the finish, the shades, and the placement of the fixtures, which I love.  They are unique and charming - thanks, Amanda!
She also sent me several names of paint colors to chose from for the bath.  Because of the variations in computer screen colors, some people might not be comfortable with this, but I wanted to be the one who actually picked the color.  I just felt a little overwhelmed at the huge selection, so Amanda was able to narrow my choices to a range that I could live with.  The color has been up on my wall for over a month now, and I'm very happy with it.
All in all, this was a very good experience, and I will definitely use Jeff and Amanda's help again!"
