"Theresa did an excellent job of helping us narrowing down our choices of colors and carpet selection. She went above and beyond by contacting the carpet distributers to find out if the carpet would be available. When she found out they could not guarantee it would be delivered when we needed it, she again spent more time helping us find another comparable brand that matched quality and color that would be available. Never did she rush us or try to sell us what we didn't want. She set us up with one of their (preferred) carpet installers who did an great job installing the carpet. The downside: they arrived every day after 9:30 AM, took 2 days and approximately 3 hours on the 3rd day to install 187 Sq yards of carpet. Even when on the last day when they assured me they would be here at 9 am, it was about 9:45 when they arrived to finish the job. while overall they did a great job, the carpet looks great, being punctual was not their strong point, however, I'm glad the job was done right. <br />"

"As anyone with a motorhome knows, the carpets fade and discolor very badly. We were provided with an estimate over the phone from Color Your Carpet. The final price was within the range quoted. They arrived promptly at the specified appointment time. After a brief discussion about what color I wanted, they mixed up a color that was exactly what I was looking for! They were done quickly and we are VERY happy with the results! My 10 year old RV carpet looks almost like new, for a fraction of what replacing it would have cost. I highly recommend Rich and Color Your Carpet! <br /> <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"I was buying a home I had never seen and was in a different state trying to figure out what to do with the old carpeting in the home. One option was to wait, but then I would have all of my furniture there and my kiddos and I would have to leave during the process. However, the local Lowes there in VA didn't carry the same colors as the PCB Lowes, so I was lost. Then I checked Angie's List and called Carpet One. Turns out, they are a franchise, and there was a Carpet One less than 5 minutes from my home in VA. <br /> I worked over the phone with a woman named Crystal in PCB. She was extremely professional, very easy to talk to, and gave her honest opinion on the space I was purchasing carpet for after she went to measure it. We decided on a carpet at the VA store, and she ordered it in FL. She worked with the painter to make sure he would be done, and the day after he finished, she had them install the carpeting. When I arrived from VA the next day, it was beautiful! It has been a seamless (no pun intended!) process from day one. From getting financing for the project, to picking out colors. She was helpful in working with a price while factoring in a 15% military discount and always returned my calls in a timely manner. I appreciate this company and will recommend them and will use them again! By the way, their pricing was SIGNIFICANTLY lower than Lowes (a store I LOVE) and the quality of carpet was better too! <br />"

"<p>I couldn't be more pleased. Every commitment was honored and done on time at the agreed to time. I was impressed that all of the installers were local men who have been installing for Kilgore's for 14 + years. They were very professional and very respectful of our property and time. I was impressed that all of the materials including the tile were made in the USA. Finally after the job was complete the owner Brenda stopped by to inspect the install and discuss how we should maintain the just installed look. We will surely use this company in the future.</p>"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Wausau, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
