"Everyone told me that home repair companies would likely be taking only big roofing jobs after Hurricane Zeta hit New Orleans and that I might have to wait a month or longer to replace a single missing shingle that blew off during the Category 2 hurricane. While it definitely doesn’t meet the definition of a “big job,” even a single missing shingle can result in potentially significant (not to mention expensive) water damage inside the home the next time it rains. So, we called our go-to home-repair company, One Man and A Toolbox, the Monday after the hurricane. It isn’t often that I leave friends slack-jawed but that’s just what happened when I informed them that One Man and a Toolbox was sending one of their experienced workers (Henry) out to repair our roof the very next day (Tuesday). Henry not only repaired the roof shingle in question but also fixed another errant shingle he spotted while up on our roof. Total cost: $80. We are so grateful to One Man and a Toolbox for their amazing customer service and professional quality work — especially after a hurricane. This company is a class act. If it sounds like I’m a happy (and loyal) customer, you would be absolutely correct."

"Albert shows up when he’s supposed to and does a great job. He has a lot of great ideas on how to fix certain things in the most efficient way possible. He did the following…. Tore out the old vanity, toilet, shower and roughly 400 square feet of carpet. I forgot about the kitchen sink as well. Then he installed new vinyl flooring, a vanity, toilet and a shower insert. Not to mention all the trim work around the house as well. He even fixed our new mini C air conditioners. I just can’t say enough good things about Albert Devine."

"Danny and his team painted the interiors of the main living/dining areas and hallways on three floors of our vacation rental home. We updated the colors from a hard-to-cover bright yellow to a serene light blue. His team did a great job covering the old color, taking care of DIY painting mistakes made by the previous owners, and cleaning up when they were through working. Timing was critical on this job and Danny went out of his way to fit us into his schedule. He also gave us great advice on exterior updates that we could consider and the right types of paint to use on some of the outside surfaces. He also offered to come back after the rental season and touch up "problem areas" around the stairs and handrails that come from regular use -- no charge. Danny is a real professional who cares about the quality of his work and his reputation. While his services can be more expensive than other options, I would hire him again for the right job."

They added a French drain to help prevent the issue that happened to our wall initially, which was tremendous foresight on his end versus other contractors we had bids out too. "I own an older home (built in 1950), which still had the original door to the outside.  I not only needed a new door hung, but some repair work/replacement of the threshold.  I called Timothy Porter and he arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time to give me an estimate.  He seemed very knowledgeable about many handyman-type tasks--everything from building decks to replacing kitchen cabinets. He examined the door and threshold that I needed replaced and explained everything that he would need to do.  He even gave me advice about what to look for when I purchased my new door.  His estimate seemed fair and resonable.  I scheduled a time with Mr. Porter to do the work, and again, he showed up 5 minutes before schedule, which I really like.  I hate having to sit around and wait for someone when I've made an appointment.  He began work immediately.  What I really like about him is that he takes his time, doesn't seem rushed, and really seems to enjoy his work.  He has a very calm, easy going manner and is confident about what he is doing.  The entire process, which included pulling out the old framework and removing the original threshold, took about 4 hours.  He made sure the door was hung level, caulked all of the areas needing to be caulked, and he cleaned up after himself.  My new door looks great!  I am very, very satisfied and will use Mr. Porter for other repairs/renovations.  I highly recommend him! <br />"
