"Tim and his crew were a delight. He and his team repaired my wood floor and baseboards, a job that took extreme craftsmanship because the materials in my older home are no longer available. They came up with a solution and the finished job looked as if it was the original decor. Would I hire Tim and his crew again? You bet! I’m sending him a punch list of repairs with the reassurance that the job will be done with care and excellence. Thank you!"

"In performing my due diligence, I contacted---or attempted to contact---about 5 countertop vendors. Some wanted me to come in and talk with them - they did NOT want to come out to see me any my area of work, which was my kitchen that I was totally remodeling.. Nathan was quick to call me back and set up an appointment - around my schedule. He was prompt and brought actual samples. We talked about countertop options....I had wanted quartz, but we ended up with granite and am I glad we did. The next step was to go and pick out the granite. I took a colleague from work and we had a blast! The lady there was extremely helpful - lot of good choices, but with the floor sample and color scheme I had with me, I was able to choose a slab that had a unique pattern (later became part of my 3 x 5 island). A man came out and laser measured everything.....I was present and was concerned that I hadn't had all my appliances installed yet. No problem. On the day of the actual install, Nathan and crew took less than a day to remove the old C-Top, install a new garbage disposal (I had bought), a new granite sink and the new C-Top and Island (I had built). I came in from work to review and pay the balance. When I walked around the corner, I was totally blown away....WOW---It was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! It was better than I expected!!!!We settled up and I complimented him for his attention to detail, cleanup and overall positive attitude. I would highly recommend Nathan for his high quality work. It is hard to find an artisan these days who not only responds, but takes great pride in his work. Thank you Nathan! Randy"

"My wife and I had a large kitchen with a huge amount of counter space and wanted to upgrade to granite counter tops before we moved as a selling feature.  I took some rough measurements of the space and we stopped by the store location.  The owner came out and met us.  We explained that we were moving and we wanted something reasonable yet nice. <br /> <br /> He immediately took us out on the floor and showed us some slabs.  He pointed us at something that was less expensive but very nice.  He even steered us away from something more expensive saying that it wasn't as nice when you finished it.What SHOCKED me was that he took my rough sketch and measurements and used those for our quote.  No paid trip to measure, no fighting over being off an inch on my measurements, nothing.  His cost was very reasonable and about half what we would have paid to a big box store for the same materials. <br /> <br /> They came out, did templates and three weeks later we had counter tops.  I would highly recommend them!!!!!  The only downside is that they did simple edges.  If you want something fancy, they didn't have that capability.BTW - Our house sold in a day!"

"The process was great. I picked a granite slab from a granite supplier. Stone Design had given me 4-5 granite suppliers to choose from. Once I found the slab(s) we liked, Stone Design quoted a price for the granite slab (62 sq ft required), including installation. Their price was very competitive with other vendors and included a coupon for Angie's List customers, which took $300 off the original price. The measurement and install was right on schedule. We did have an issue with the granite island after install were there was epoxy lines from the manufacturer of the granite slab. We scheduled a date to resolve the issue about 1 week out from the install. After taking the island back to the shop, they cut another island from the remnant that was left. It was a 3 day turn-around for resolving the island issue which was great. Stone Design exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them as your countertop vendor."

"Great! The backsplash is so beautiful that we are setting up 2 more jobs with them: laundry room floor and bathroom renovation. The young men who did the work were friendly, neat and knew how to do their job! Actually they were perfectionists!! <br />"

"From the moment I called until the job was completed, the process was seamless, prompt, and courteous with professional results. Jessica promptly responded to my e-mail message with a phone call and quickly scheduled someone to come out and give me an estimate. I was satisfied with the thoroughness of the person (sorry I do not remember his name) and with the reviews here on Angie's List that I did not look for another estimate. I called and Jessica was able to get my job scheduled that week. John is the person that came out to repair both of my tile/grout areas. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable about tile, grout, flooring and answered my questions about maintenance. As you can see from the pictures, his work is professional. My shower looks like a brand new shower. There is no more water on the floor. I will definitely call them to have my tile floors steam cleaned and sealed. The only thing John had to come back the next week was to re-grout the tile in the laundry room. The color he had with him the day of the job did not match existing tile, and being a perfectionist he didn't want to use it because it would stand out as not matching. The fact that it didn't match was not the Grout Medic's fault. My lighting was out in the laundry room that week and both the person who came out to give me the estimate and John were working in dim lighting conditions. John took a piece of the loose grout with him to get a perfect match. Both the shower and the steps are in excellent condition."

"I decided to work with Katie because of the involvement offered with each step of the process, from advising regarding preferable materials for the various areas, to selecting specific tiles, to availability for questions and discussion all through the installation process. She is very open to your creative ideas for flooring, tile and carpet, and gives you a number of options of suppliers for the materials. There were some delays due to inevitable human events - illness, severe weather, and personal life events - but the flooring results were excellent. Because of the various life events, there was quite a bit of rescheduling of arrival times and working days, and that was the only reason why I marked the punctuality as 'good.' There was, however, always communication about these changes; there were not any 'no shows' or anything of that sort. My experience with the company's personal attention to detail and their customers began with Katie coming to my home to discuss my flooring plans. She showed me samples of various possibilities for floor tiles and carpets. We discussed my concept for not only this project, but future flooring projects I am planning as part of renovations on my entire home. When some of her initial samples didn't really suit my taste, she suggested that we meet at the showroom of a local flooring company she likes working with to review other options; she suggested a porcelain tile for the lower level living areas because of its durability and quality, and we found a lovely mosaic tile with which to mix the solid-colored tile and design a decorative pattern on the floor. At the time of installation, the floor was properly prepared with waterproofing and anti-fracture membrane before laying the porcelain tile. The intricacies of laying out this pattern also accounted for some of the additional time required to install the porcelain. The installers appeared to be very careful with the preparation. They ran into some questions along the way regarding handling cutting of the tile to maintain symmetry in the pattern on the floor; rather than just doing 'whatever,' & hurrying through, they called Katie, and me, to discuss what my preference would be. Tim, the installer, laid out a sample of his idea for correcting this problem, and sent me a photo, so that I could see, before proceeding. This was characteristic of how they handled problems that they ran into. There was even one row of tile where I felt that the results were not leveled properly - where the mosaic did not meet the solid tile sufficiently smoothly; they pulled that section up and redid the flooring there. So, Katie and her crew do stand by their promise of quality, and take their warranties seriously. They also respected my wishes for protecting my home during the process - to cover new windows and doors with plastic sheeting while working -and were very respectful of my home generally. Similarly, some questions came up during the vinyl installation, regarding working around a laundry utility tub, and that was resolved to my satisfaction. Katie had thought initially that it should be moved, but I didn't think that was necessary, and it was effectively tiled around. I was also concerned that much care be taken in the furnace room because of all the sensitive equipment there, and I feel that my concerns were heeded in that area as well, with careful and attractive installation resulting. There are some finishing touches in the form of shoe moulding to be completed. Part of the reason that is not finished yet is because of the carefulness noted. The color ordered for one of the rooms turned out to not be a good match, so they are going to purchase some unfinished moulding instead and stain it to match the wood paneling on the walls in my lower level area. Tim could have simply installed that moulding to get things over with, and gone about his business, but called Katie and me to say that the color didn't look right, so that we could find another choice for this finishing work. My 'basement' is really a lower level room/area in the home, not a shut-off basement area, so I wanted flooring that would be both durable and attractive, making this an inviting area to be in my home. I feel that Katie and her installation crew achieved that goal for me. I was grateful for the assistance with flooring selection since there are so many materials and options out there; even though I am a good researcher and feel I have good taste, it can be a little overwhelming trying to sort through all of the options in an area like this where there are so many materials, styles, and choices. Perhaps one pays a little more for a boutique approach to flooring, but for me it was worthwhile. I have additional work that I have contracted with Katie for a kitchen floor, and also have plans to work with her on carpeting in the upper floors."

"This is the first time I hired a contractor to do work and I was a bit nervous and I would definitely hire AMERICAN RENOVATION MASTERS again. The owner Tim put my mind at ease with his professionalism and friendly manor. The crew was excellent. They arrived on time and did an amazing job taking up the old ceramic tile and cement board so the job was done right from the beginning. The crew also installed new baseboards not only in the area they were working but at my request replaced all the baseboards on the first floor. The craftsmanship and detail to the work done showed you that the work was done by master craftsman. I did get 3 estimates from other two companies all of which were very close in total cost.. Also Tim the owner of AMERICAN RENOVATION MASTERS did not have an issue with removing the commode and sink in the half bath and putting them back when the tile work was complete like one of the other companies did. I will be calling them for any future projects. The job was completed in the time quoted."

"First, the design consultation process. When Dave Carver <br /> came to our house for the consultation his first question was ?what is your <br /> goal? not ?what is your budget? which greatly impressed us. Our primary goal <br /> was to upgrade the kitchen for resale value as we will likely down-size in the <br /> next five years or so. <br /> Based on that goal, Dave made suggestions that would increase the value without going over the top on cost. Here?s a few examples. Our soffit has plumbing in it. Plumbing can be moved, but would be expensive to do so. Instead, Dave suggested keeping the cupboard height as is but add crown molding at the top. We have a peninsula in the kitchen, not an island. Dave <br /> suggested keeping the peninsula but add false doors on the front to ?dress it up?. With that and adding an overhang on the countertop so stools can be used at it, the peninsula looks great. Dave also tried to steer us to lower cost granite class, backsplash, lighting options  and suggested that our appliances did not need to be replaced. We ignored some of that advice, but it was our own choosing, not due to any high-pressure sales tactics on Dave?s part. <br /> Next, the workmanship. Dave?s team did a great job in all aspects of the work. It was done on time and with high-quality. All issues addressed promptly. He even accommodated a schedule change that we needed. <br /> We could not be more pleased with our kitchen renovation and the experience of working with Jim Carver & Sons. Highly recommend them. <br />"
