"Terry was very personable and knowledgeable about refrigerators and that is what I was looking for. He was thorough with his diagnostic assessment and knew exactly how to fix it. He was very reasonable with his charges and only did what was needed to repair the appliance. We were very pleased with his services and will hire him again if we need a honest and reliable repairman."

"Excellent in all aspects. Prompt, courteous & friendly. Very thorough and knowledgeable. Diagnosed the problem with my clothes dryer after carefully accessing the situation. Explained in detail options about what could be done, with no pressure whatsoever to use them for repairs. Extensive follow up with advise. Will certainly use them again for anything appliance-related."

"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"We have ordered several replacement parts for various appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, washer) and everything has always been satisfactory.  Website shows videos on how to install certain parts and also include a diagram of your appliance.  Fast shipping.  Very helpful! <br />"

"A valve underneath my Kenmore dishwasher began leaking, and I called Appliance Zen because of the reviews on Angie's List and because I had a discount coupon. It took three tries to fix the leak, because each new part was defective (a supplier issue, not one with the installer), but Sebastian stuck with it until the problem was solved. He even made a free repair?including providing the $50 part at no charge?to my electric range, just as a courtesy gesture to compensate for my having to wait longer than expected for the dishwasher to be fixed."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Weaverville, NC

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
