"Al was very prompt on coming out to give me an estimate. He was very detailed and specific on his prices and how long it would take to do the job. He called me back and gave me an exact time frame for the schedule and confirmed it the week before. He and his son showed up on the first day on time and completed all the work within one week. I felt comfortable leaving him and his son  at the house while i was at work.They did a great job on completing everything i needed, plus cleaned up when they were done. I will sure call Al again if I need any work done. He was very talented and could do any type of house repair you need. He and his son was a pleasure to deal with. thanks Al!

"After he figured out where the leak was coming from, he found that the whole faucet needed to be replaced. Had to travel 15 minutes away just to get a new one.  Cleveland is a very little town. I had an appointment so I had to leave him by his self to complete job. When I got back home everything was done and it looked good and no longer leaks. Thank you so much.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"We recently purchased a new home and needed some plumbing work done before we could move in. Howell Plumbing was knowledgeable and skilled in completing all our plumbing needs. It was very significant that Howell Plumbing was the only plumbing company that responded out of about a dozen calls I placed to plumbing contractors in the area. First, Howell did a great job with the gas hot water heater. It had been installed improperly which, in turn, was preventing placing a washer and dryer in the utility room. They were able to reposition the water heater so that the washer and dryer could be placed in alignment with the washer's power outlet and the dryer's vent. The job required moving not only the hot water heater tank, but also all of the copper tubing and fittings, and making sure everything was aligned properly with the vent through the exterior wall. Second, they repaired a major leak with an upstairs jetted bathtub. They initially tired to conserve cost (which we appreciated) by first attempting to repair the pump. However, when it became evident that a new pump was the only thing that would correct the leak, they had the new pump delivered overnight and installed it promptly the following day. This saved us a lot of "down time" with a bedroom and bathroom which were unable to be used until the tub was fixed. Both jobs went smoothly, efficiently, and professionally. They brought three workers, each of whom had a radio which they used to communicate to each other, i.e. the worker upstairs could call to someone stationed near the toolbox in the truck to bring the necessary tools and parts upstairs without wasting time by one worker having to go downstairs, get the parts and tools himself, and then go back upstairs to resume the job. They also used their radios to communicate to a worker stationed at the street to turn the city water off and back on when needed. It was all highly efficient. I also liked the fact that Howell Plumbing was initially willing to look at a number of other plumbing concerns we had throughout the home, and then help us determine estimates for all the issues and prioritize the ones that needed to be done first. Our experience with Howell Plumbing's professionals and their work was first rate. I will definitely call them again for any further plumbing needs. We also appreciated the military discount."

"We got off to a rough start. He said he’d meet me but then sent his girlfriend on several occasions. She was nice and helpful, but I was expecting to meet up with Larry. I finally bought all materials and roofing myself, to avoid hassles. Larry met me with his trailer at the home improvement store, and again at the roofing store. I paid him for labor only, upon completion....in the amount of $3,000. This was for replacing a section of exterior wall, replacing a small section of sub-flooring with plywood, painting the exterior of the building, 16x20, painting the door, and putting on a new roof. An old deck was taken apart and put back on, as well. I’m pleased with the roof and painting of the exterior walls and door. He had to come back and replace a section of wood. He wanted to use wood putty but it was a large area and needed to be replaced with wood, so he replaced it with wood as I requested, and I will soon paint it myself. The deck could look better but since old wood was used, maybe it will look better after I paint it. Using old wood was my choice to save money since the wood was still good. Larry did help me to save money on this storage building. The problems that occurred weren’t so much due to the quality of work, as they were about several other issues and follow through: 1. Being on job site on the days promised, 2. Meeting me when he promised, instead of sending someone else after knowing I was on my way. I’m an hour away. 3. Not being tactful to me or showing professionalism to me as his customer (his bread and butter). Businesses teach the customer is always right. He threw a receipt at me that I didn’t need...and spoke down to me harshly. His texts have been very ugly many times. 4. Serious cursing...MF...and often, every few words, I was told. 5.My neighbor was not happy with some issues that occurred on his property during this time, but Larry says he isn’t responsible and doesn’t know if his workers are responsible or not as Larry wasn’t always there. Larry does not want to do anymore work for me and said he put up dealing with my **** for months and for me not to call him anymore. Therefore, I will not call him anymore. I’m a patient person and hoped to find a handyman I could call on through the years for various projects, but I haven’t found him yet. I found Larry through Home Advisor which is a name I have used and I trust, but he is no longer with them. Larry thinks I don’t like the job they did, but the repair is fine, the painting is fine, the roof looks fine I think, though the wood that hangs over on the corners may have needed replacing...I’m an older woman and don’t know about these things, and the deck isn’t pretty but seems to be sturdy...made from older wood I had."
