Customers say: Quick response

"I had Kris come and install Rinnai hot water heater. He helped us pick the one which was suitable for our hot water needs. Kris was on time, installed it in a couple of hours , and left the basement spotless. Last year I had trouble with water running cold because moth had entered the inner housing. He came and cleaned the inside, and got it working again. Heâ s professional, awesome at his work and very reasonable. I highly recommended him for all your plumbing needs."

"They showed up on time that morning and got to work immediately. They had a fair amount of work cut out for them, as I was converting my home from a 2-family home back to its original single-family home layout. They removed the 2 old hot water tanks that were in the basement, reconfigured the plumbing to tie everything together into 1 system, replaced a lot of shoddy plumbing done by previous homeowners, and installed a tank-less water heater. They completed the work the same day. There were no significant, unpleasant surprises. The work was completed 10 months ago, and there hasn't been an issue since."

"I cannot stress enough how positive our experience was with Rodney at ABC Water Services. We purchased a house on well water that came with a horrific sulfur smell and hard water, even though we had an extensive system in the basement that was supposed to fix everything. (Apparently, the previous owners thought house maintenance was optional and did nothing to maintain the systems in their years at the house.) We originally hired a plumber (Pete Mellon) to fix the system, which not only took two weeks between him checking out the system and finally coming back with the parts, but still did not fix the issue. So that was money down the drain.   <br /> We did some more research on here and called Rodney. He got an A for responsiveness, because he was able to come out the same day. He received another A rating because he came out ready to fix the problem--No excuses of needing to order parts. He keeps a lot of inventory and had everything with him. This was really handy because he also found out that the system was not set up to the proper drain, which was the cause of our basement flooding the night prior. He was able to fix that during the same visit! Of course, the biggest defining factor was that he actually fixed our problem. No more sulfur smell. No more sediment getting through the filters. We finally have clean water!  <br /> The experience was top-notch. He only had us pay half of the cost up front. He then came back at the end of the week to re-test our water and to make sure we had no problems. He said that only once we were satisfied with the outcome were we responsible for the remaining cost. After our negative experience with the last plumber, this meant a lot.  <br /> Rodney is not only extremely knowledgeable about many water filtration systems, but he is very open with walking you through how everything works to make sure you understand maintenance needs. He even does a follow-up call to see if any other questions may have come up. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone with water issues. <br />"

"Extremely well. Bill Bennett has been with Isaac and its predecessor for many years and knows our house and his business. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Isaac offered a special for both cleanings and tuneups for $169, and that plus tax is the price we paid."

"One of our AC units broke down in the midst of a heat wave a few weeks ago. Before contacting Sinnott's Plumbing and Heating, we had some bad luck with a company that was not able to figure out what was going on in the outside unit that kept burning the fuses. I made some calls around and was finally referred to Sinnott. I hadn't been aware that Sinnott would repair A/Cs. The office staff I spoke to was very pleasant. She promised to send their most experienced technician Frank the next working day, adding that Frank was the kind of guy who should be able to solve the mystery for us because he was naturally curious, very thorough, and had experience of 40 years in his profession. Frank showed up in the morning and asked all the right questions. He was observant and was a systemic thinker in his approach to difficult problems. And he was an excellent communicator and explained things clearly to me. I was not surprised when he identified the culprit (one of the wires with faulty connection) and corrected it for us. Our AC unit has been running smoothly ever since. In the future, if we have other issues, we will be sure to contact Sinnott and ask for Frank who is a real pro. Thank you, Frank. Saugerties"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Wellesley-island, NY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
