"Jeremiah was amazing with customer service. Attentive, always responded. Lamar was the technician. I just didn’t feel like he had a lot of experience but he was here quite awhile, inside and outside the home. Jeremiah said they charged $299 and no mileage fee, but did not mention that the two tests to see if it was black mold would be $700! That was upsetting but you were stuck because you had paid $300 for him to come out. It took a while to get tests back but that wasn't their fault. Just wish we hadn't been blindsided, but otherwise very reliable."

"We had mike come to our house to inspect our basement that had flooded out due to a sump pump that failed. Mike came out inspected and told us the expected. We had mold growing actively. We came to an agreement of what was to be done. We got sump pump replaced and got the basement free and clear of water and Mikes team dryer and treated the mold. He came back to ensure that everything was dealt with properly. That 2nd inspection meant the world to us and we would highly recommend Mike and team to anyone who ends up in our situation."

"They did a fantastic job. Very thorough, very professional, and provided before and after photos of the ductwork so you could see the night-and-day results. They also took apart every single floor register to clean them thoroughly, inside and out. Everything was spin-and-span clean when they were done and the whole house felt fresh. Very pleased with Aspen Air Duct Cleaning."

"An attic is one of those "I hope it's working like it should" spaces and, unless there's a need, you may never go there.  In the 20 years we've lived in our home, I've only gone up there once to evict a grey squirrel who was late on their rent and busting up the place.  A buyer's inspection of the attic revealed mold on the roof decking and rafters.  Safe Environmental Solutions (SES) set up a chamber around the closet with the attic access hatch to keep the blasting media and mold from entering our home.  In the attic, SES laid poly sheeting and used a negative air machine for dust control while blasting and cleaning. After the baking soda blasting they fine cleaned using HEPA-vacuuming and damp wiped with water/mild detergent. They re-installed the blown-in fiberglass insulation and installed new rafter-mates to allow the ventilation system to work like it should.  They also made a new insulated attic hatch with a handle and hooks to keep it sealed closed.  At the close of the job, SES provided a report with pictures of the attic space.  I would definitely recommend SES to anyone looking for mold remediation.  I was very impressed with SES's professionalism, promptness, and care of our home while the job was done."

"We had a house inspection in December performed by Aaron and one on a different house in January by Hugh. Both men were very professional and thorough. They explained all aspects of the inspections and answered every question we had. The report that was subsequently issued was top notch and included pictures of any item that might need repair. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is in the process of buying a house.

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Wells, ME

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
