I chose this group after seeing all the positive reviews from other Angie's List members. You can see my list of Pros and Cons below, but you need to hear this story first:  After they broke the dryer vent louver (see below), my husband and I had to take the dryer vent hose loose to replace the louver. The dryer vent was full of gobs of lint! I have photos I took before using my own vacuum to clean it out, if I can figure out how to post them here. This caused me to lose faith about the effectiveness of the duct cleaning they also did. I would not have known this had I not needed to take the dryer vent apart, and my advice for anyone having similar services done is to stay with the technicians as they work, and check their results.  

Update 12/14/2015:  We dismantled the entire dryer vent to clean it and only found lint in the upper section; the lower section, including the connection to the dryer, was lint free. I believe breaking the vent caused the person to panic and not finish the top section of the dryer duct.  I received a call from the company today. They offered sincere apologies and will pay for the replacement part for the broken vent. The company representative was very professional and helped restore my faith in this company. As a result, I upgraded my ratings for Professionalism and Quality accordingly, while still taking into account the extra effort this work caused for us.  

Pros:

The two workers were friendly and punctual.

Hoses take the dirt out to the truck, removing it entirely from the house.

Good price with no restrictions on the number of ducts cleaned, including cold air return duct

Cons:

Broke the outside vent louvers on the dryer vent. To their credit, they told us about it, but only offered to tape the broken part back together, not to replace it. Left minor debris on the floor from the vents in the popcorn ceiling and did not clean it up (running a dust buster would be good, or putting a drop cloth under the vent to collect debris.)

Hoses pulled into a downstairs room rubbed the paint off one door frame. We can touch this up, not severe.

"Deodorizing" only meant they sprayed the ducts' registers with a bottled spray. Didn't seem to make any difference.

"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"
