"Excellent job painting our house. The job was done quickly, with great attention to detail. They even came back to paint a small piece of plastic trim that needed special paint that would adhere to the plastic. We really appreciate their effort and would certainly recommend Dettmann-Claus Painting."

"Lockwood personnel are skilled, professional, punctual and they clean up after themselves. They completed a tricky ceiling repair while maintaining my wall border. They did the drywall, mud and then painted it and added texture to match the rest of the ceiling. I know where the damage was and I could not tell once they were done. They also treated prior water stains and damage around a light fixture. The workers treated my home as their own and took great pains to get it right, and they cleaned up when they were done. I was also not afraid to have their workers in my home. It's as if nothing happened only better because now my ceiling looks new again. Having dealt with, and been disappointed by, many contractors over the years, this is the first review I've written because I was very satisfied with the pricing, scheduling and most of all the quality and outcome of the work done. I'm preparing my list of projects for them to tackle next."

"This job went great from beginning to end. Chris and his team were excellent to work with. We had to custom stain over 50 doors for our commercial building and Chris never gave up until we got the exact correct color. His painting is precise. He does not cut corners. If he cannot do the job correctly, he will tell you he cannot do the job. Always on time, rarely took a lunch, and never left early. Chris and his team always made sure supplies were cleaned up and out of the way at the end of every work day. I will always call Chris for all of my painting and staining needs."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in West-Alton, MO

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
