"This was a perfect experience from beginning to end.  <br /> <br /> Dick came and measured the area to be carpeted and gave me a very fair estimate, he was very professional. <br /> <br />The carpets were installed by 3 very professional installers, arriving on time.  They were very neat, quiet and professional.  They were very careful moving the furniture making sure there was no damage to the walls or floors.  The installation of the carpets went flawlessly and they returned the furniture to their original place. <br /> <br />I highly recommend Paramount carpets and their team.  I will use them again . <br />"

"Khoury's was great! Joe himself took the phone calls and came to the house to pick up the carpets. The carpets hadn't been cleaned in a long, long time. While there was no damage to the carpets, they were very dull and dirty. Khoury's put them through their very thorough washing process and hung them to dry. The carpets came back bright and immaculate. Joe did say that they had a long waiting list, and that they were backed up, but he said he could get the job done in 4 weeks, and he did! I was concerned about leaving the hardwood floors without protection from the dogs' claws, but it turned out fine. <br /> I would use Khoury's again, anytime, and in fact, may just call them to come back and clean some carpet in the home. They tell me they provide the cleaning solutions and move all the furniture out so as to do a complete job. It sounds great. <br />"

"I have an older carpet that only needed the "bumps" stretched out.  Ken arranged for Rennie to come and fix it.  He did an excellent job.  It was a very time consuming job and Rennie was able to accomplish it in a short time.  He told me that I didn't really need to replace the carpet, since it had little wear, even though it was older.  He could have said differently but was quite honest. <br /> I would definitely recommend The Carpet Man to anyone who needs repair or carpet install.  He's very honest and will tell you what you need. <br />"

"It took me a while to select the products I wanted. Frankly I hate the "in" styles in vinyl flooring right now so I hated 99% of what I saw, but then found one I kind of liked. They told me they would be going over my existing vinyl with an embossing agent and the new vinyl. I told them I could pull up the existing stuff with my hands, so why go over it instead of pulling it up and replacing it? They gave me some reasons that didn't really apply to my situation. The measuring person showed up about a half hour late and I again had the embossing discussion with him. It's clear to me that these guys install over existing vinyl only. I got a quote over the phone and it was much higher than I expected, although it was the first quote I got. To be fair to RPM one reason the quote was high was that I chose a very expensive vinyl floor. I decided I needed a less expensive product and knew there was nothing else in the showroom at RPM for me to see. I found a product I absolutely loved in another showroom. The other company pulled up the old floor and replaced it with no difficulty. They never recommended going over the existing floor. Also, the other company emailed me quote instead of just calling me with a price which I like. I thought the installation price was high from both companies. My decision was based on my preferred installation method and the availability of a product from a different company."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in West Barnstable, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
