"Everything went very well. Richard and his crew were very professional and friendly. They worked non stop until the job was completed. Some of my neighbors will be using them to do their driveways. If I need work done in the future I will not hesitate to call Suburban Asphalt. I will refer them to anyone looking to have their driveways, etc. done."

"Their communication is poor, I claimed a deal for the service and they called back and told me to make sure that the driveway is cleaned up, so I cleaned the driveway and prep it for them to do the sealcoating, the service was set to done tomorrow, I called them them up today to confirm the service tomorrow, the lady who answered said she would call me back in an hour, I never got a callback; I call them again and they now told me that its too far for them to provide the service, therefore unable to provide the service. I just have to look for another provider that would come and sealcoat my asphalt driveway. I would consider hiring them if they would come to my place and with a fair price too."

"THE CO. REMOVED THE OLD ASPHALT DRIVEWAY, CLEANED AND LEVELED THE GROUND, REMOVED ANY OBSTRUCTIONS AND DEBRI AND REPLACED THE OLD ASPHALT WITH NEW. THEY ALSO SEALED THE DRIVEWAY. THEY DID THE JOB, CLEANLY, EFFICIENTLY, AND I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH BOTH THE QUALITY OF THE JOB AND THE COST.
MY DRIVEWAY LOOKS GREAT.

"I called Boyd paving to replace an old cracked driveway and spoke with Eugene Boyd the owner.  He agreed to come the next day to give me an estimate.  He was prompt courteous and professional and gave me a competitive price to do the work so we hired him.  He called me right away to come in and remove the old driveway.  His crew was right on time and did a great job, Eugene himself was on the job as well which was great to see.  He put down a base of gravel and told me he would be back once the gravel had time to set.  Eugene explained that this part of the process couldn't be rushed and the gravel had to settle otherwise the integrity of the driveway would be compromised.  It was obvious to me that Eugene wanted to make sure everything came out right.  His crew came several weeks later and finished the job and it looks great!  Once again Eugene himself was there doing the work with the crew which was great to see.  He called me for a follow up and was very thorough as to what I should do and told me he stands behind all of his work which I am confident is true.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Boyd Paving in the future.

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in West Milford, NJ

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
