"Robert was very thorough throughout the installation. He made sure to make it right without rushing it. Floors look great and would use again when ready to install in the remaining rooms."

"Wonderful experience! I contacted Weeks for an estimate after seeing floors that were installed in new houses and talking to the builders. Cameron arrived on time for the appointment and gave me an estimate that was comparable to others estimates I received. I decided to go with Weeks based on their reputation and the number year they had been in business. Cameron provided guidance on the type of floor I needed since my house is on a slab. I was remodeling my kitchen prior to the installation of the floors and Cameron was very flexible when I had to reschedule the install date twice. The crew that removed my carpet and installed the floors were fantastic! I was amazed at how quickly they installed the floors. The hickory floors are beautiful! Highly recommend Weeks!"

"Steven Booth came to my home in Greensboro to measure and give estimate for cork flooring.  He also brought reasonably sized samples so that I could see them in place and make my choice.  The cork flooring was ordered, and installation was scheduled as soon as it arrived at the store.  AAF removed quarter round and installed floating cork floor tiles.  They carefully removed and replaced appliances.  They recycled quarter round and were able to reuse bamboo strip between bamboo floor and cork flooring.  Job was done efficiently, and installers were very tidy and cleaned up all dust and debris.  Could not be more satisfied!"

"<p>My wife and I have never had a more pleasant, professional sales and service experience than the one we had recently with Burlington Carpet One, here in east Burlington, NC on South Church Street. We chose them for our carpet project because of Angie's List recs and once again we were not disappointed with the results.  Meredith, the sales rep was knowledgeable, courteous, accommodating, and very helpful. She assisted us in finding just the right carpet and pad (dollars vs. quality decisions), carefully explained the advantages of each, enabling us to find exactly what we wanted. She explained their process and timeline from selection through installation, allowed us to take samples back to our home to check color matching. Their project guy showed up precisely on time for the measurement appointment.  Then a few weeks later, the 2 man crew that showed up for installation was on time, friendly, quick, courteous, efficient, and did a beautiful job. One of the rooms, the walk-in closet, had numerous angles and cubbies, all of which were perfectly fitted. They even asked us how we wanted the remnants cut up for area rugs and runners, which they then took back to their shop, cut to our specifications, and bound the edges. </p> <p>We seriously considered having this project handled by a big box home store, but we stopped by Carpet One because of  their proximity to our home and because of Angie's List. Once we talked to Meredith for a while, we put alternative plans aside. We would heartily recommend these folks to anyone considering any carpeting job. They are the best we've ever encountered. Every piece of the job is handled by their people, and the ones we were involved with were very, very good.</p> <br />"

"My call to Color Carpets was answered on the first ring. The young man on the phone was very courteous when I asked him about carpet for my stairs he and suggested I come in the store to look at the different types of carpet options. <br /> <br /> I stopped by the store a few hours later and was greeted by the owner, a very knowledgeable and friendly person. He gave me a lot of information about the different carpet choices available. I was also given a chance to look at all of the remnants available. Color Carpets offered to come to my home to measure almost immediately once I mentioned my schedule was flexible. <br /> <br /> Once they confirmed that the high quality remnant I had chosen would fit the space, they set up for installation just 2 business days later. <br /> <br /> The installers were prompt and professional. The installed carpet was beautiful. My only complaint was that when the installers removed then replaced my wrought iron stair railing, they scratched off some of its paint in the process."

"Erin Kivela of Got You Floored came to give us an estimate for replacing our laminate flooring in the kitchen and 1/2 bath of our home.  We wanted 18 inch tiles, installed on the diagonal with thinset grout.  Erin gave us a bid of about $1500 to remove the old flooring and install the new flooring.  The work was to begin on a Thursday and be completed on a Saturday. <br /> <br /> Two problems arose during this job.  One problem was that not enough tiles were ordered--in fact, two more boxes needed to be ordered to complete the job.  This meant that the quick 3 day job was stretched to a 7 day job, complicating the pick-up and delivery of appliances we wanted to have installed.  <br /> <br /> The other problem was that I was never clearly told that I, the customer, needed to arrange for a plumber to come and take out the pedestal sink and toilet in the half bathroom before the floor could be installed.  This was not written in the estimate. So it came as a surprise to me that suddenly, I needed to arrange for this and pay for this added cost on top of the flooring work.  I needed to shoulder the cost of the sink and toilet removal AND the placement of them again, after the floor was complete--a cost of about $300 or so.  Erin was extremely apologetic about this mistake and for not being clear from the start that this was my responsibility. <br /> <br /> The tile flooring looks great and Kevin and Paul did an excellent job setting the floor. But overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Got You Floored."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Westfield, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
