This can cause rubbing on the back side of the metal which isn't a good thing. They also said a metal roof should never be installed a roof with slats. So if you have slats and not full sheeting under your shingles make sure they put solid sheeting down first."

"He inspected entire area around the chimney. Found a few spots that could be the leak source so he repaired all of them. Carefully removed the old shingles, put down a rubber membrane snow and ice barrier and then put down new shingles. So far problem seems to have been resolved.
