"Rob was a good match for us and the work that we needed done. Communication was strong - response was swift, including for at least one accidental phone call. His installation work was 5 / 5. Because he was working in a rail space that had been recently insulated; the project manager also inspected Rob's work to make sure his team did not need to do any follow up repairs. He was very impressed by Rob's workmanship. Rob's mitigation work resulted in a significant reduction in radon levels as measured by our Corentium Home 2 devices from Airthings, this device measures radon/temp/humidity continuously and allows us to monitor levels via the app. if you are concern about radon in your home, I would recommend both Rob from Tri-state, and understanding your long term radon levels using a device such as the Corentium Home 2 device. Below is a snapshot showing the reduction in radon levels in our crawlspace after Rob completed his work. "

"He was very good. His prices were quite reasonable. He was punctual and professional. His reports were very detailed, and included pictures of everything, with little arrows on it. He did radon testing, and was very good about follow-up.  He was there for about 4 hours total.  It was much more than I expected.  I could not have been happier with him, and I just can't say enough good things about this gentleman. I would highly recommend him to anybody."

"Phil was great. The house was relatively new, around 22 years. We walked through and he did a good job explaining everything, and I felt he was thorough. We had purchased another house previously (Ridge Home Inspection, now retired), and I felt in comparison that his work and his report was more thorough. I regret a few things from our prior inspector, for example a horizontal hairline crack in the foundation that he noticed and commented on, but did not document. Doing so would have been helpful in documenting that the crack had not changed. I also felt our prior inspector did not spend as much time digging into issues. With Phil I left feeling more confident in the thoroughness, and his report covered all of the issues that were identified, with a good number of pictures. He also got the written report to me same day. He does skew on the side of caution (assume it's a problem unless proven otherwise / specialist investigates), which is also what you want as a buyer."

"Very well. The inspection was actually done prior to my appearance, but inspector made himself available at my convenience to walk me through what he found, and then the written report was made available online the next day."

"After Healthy Homes did such a great job on my rental apartment, decided to see if they could help me with the cigarette smell in my car. Was sold a small handheld fog machine and some Un-Odor product. Fogged the entire interior of my vehicle, sprayed the product on all surfaces. After washing the windows with Windex and wiping everything down with a dry towel, the car was free from odor and looked and smelled clean and fresh! Fantastic Products!!!"

"We first spoke with Mark in June when we decided to purchase a new construction home. He was extremely helpful in answering our questions through the process leading up to our inspection and was very professional and was very flexible with dates and times that would best fit our needs. Mark not only completed a thorough inspection of our home, but was extremely quick to deliver the report of his findings. We would definitely recommend Freedom Home Inspections for their inspection, radon and termite services."

"John Gutierrez went above and beyond! My husband and I researched many home inspection companies, and HOMETECH NJ INSPECTION SERVICES came the most highly recommended. John really took his time inspecting our home, explaining to us what he saw a long the way. We actually followed him around the whole time, asking an endless amount of questions. John did not mind one bit, he was super patient and extremely easy to talk to. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and overall quite impressive. John also arranged for a sewer, chimney, radon, and oil tank specialist to come into our home. He was very organized, and the whole experience could not have gone smoother. We got a detailed inspection report within a few days that was laid out clearly, and very thorough. John G. is top notch, and we would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a home."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Whitehouse Station, NJ

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
