"This project moved along quickly and on schedule. The main office kept me informed of each process. Various crews came to install different parts; each were professional, courteous and always picked up their mess. Somehow all the parts came together perfectly. I am delighted with the experience and of course with the sunroom."

"When we started our plan of remodeling, the first thing we did was the complete roof replacement including kitchen vent & duct pipe installation to the roof, and new installation of attic ventilation. MMP did not only completed it just as agreed but also very efficiently. The crews were friendly, professional, and careful. The jobs were carefully managed and implemented effectively. I was impressed by Matt, who is the manager, and he does an outstanding job in managing the crews and the progress of the situation, and the communication was clear and always to the point. We then moved to initiate a search for a contractor of two bathrooms remodeling after completing the roof and attic vent, MMP was one of the many candidates. Matt has had not only the best idea and proposals but also shown an impressive & professional sense of evaluating the project accurately, including the possible structural modification as well as a competitive estimate of the cost of the build. His proposal included a rebuild of a wall of the bathroom to expand another one adjacent to it. Matt accepted to use my schematic design image (made with a software tool) and a spreadsheet list of the fixtures that I created - as many as fifty items including TOTO, Grohe, American Standard, Panasonic, and IKEA - to start the job (later changed some of them due to local plumbing code compliance) After beginning the bathroom remodel project, Matt shared what jobs will be done with us timely and efficiently via text so that we feel comfortable enough in knowing what is going on while living in the house of dust & noise from remodeling. The crews, Zen and Mark, were very courteous, extensively experienced, reliable, and friendly with excellent communication, sometimes with songs of 80s rock music. They ask me when more precise specifications are needed and notified me when they feel advance notifications are required. When a change is necessary due to inspection, they informed me and clarified what and why. I have never felt uncomfortable in living together with the remodel job which has lasted over four months. The completed two bathrooms were stunning, just as I imagined. Matt, Zen, and Mark have proved their strong & thoughtful expertise and lived up with my request patiently until completion. Great job. A home remodeling project cannot be successful without having a trusted partner, and my experience with MMP has led me to be glad to share my confidence that MMP has a credential to become your reliable partner to manage a construction project together."

"An internet search for a sunroom found BradyBuilt. After an email exchange, we were invited up to the factory to see how the rooms are built. We were very impressed with the process, and also with our salesman who discussed our project in detail with zero pressure. After contracting to buy a sunroom, the BradyBuilt employees we dealt with at the company were all professional and totally on the ball. The delivery of the room, two weeks ago, went flawlessly and we love the beautiful new space in our home. Having said that, anyone buying should be aware that a large part of the process is having a local contractor that can follow the BradyBuilt plans for the connection to an existing home. Ours had no trouble with the plans and, when the room arrived, it literally took just a couple of hours to attach it to the house!"

"All went well with no problems. Todd McCrohan and his helper were outstanding. Work proceeded every day, rain or shine. Jared, the electrician, was also outstanding. He worked two days from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm to make sure he did not get in the way of the erecting crew and kept their schedule moving along. All workers were neat and tidy, cleaning up and removing all debris. Communication with the office was excellent at all times due to Anna Laycock's thoroughness and patience.
This sunroom was the third year-round sunroom that I have had Patio Enclosures install for me. Two for myself and one for my daughter. The above comments can apply to all three installations. My daughter's installation took place in January, 2016. The same crew fought cold, wind, snow and ice and the job was still completed on time! How good is that!
Eileen Cheetham"

"This was an up and down project. It naturally took longer than expected due to the pandemic so I wont comment on things out of their control. Initial communication with Sean was great, but after we signed the contract and he got his down payment his communication mostly disappeared. Through the delays in the pandemic, his not communicating was disconcerting. But the biggest screw up from Sean was him telling us he would take care of the permit, only to discover at the last minute he never applied and then we would need a special permit. At this point Sean left us to fend for ourselves with the town boards, which having never done this was disturbing. Other companies will handle this for you so this is a huge negative from CMS. Naturally, with two armature home owners trying to work the system, the special permit was not granted and we had to make a huge shift in plan to fit a smaller plan in place, which added even more time to the project. Finally when the project was ready, Sean handed over the project to his manager Kevin. Kevin was fabulous through (see end comment though) and his construction team was great. Kevin's communication was great. The quality of the work done was top notch over all. The floor framing looks like it will last 100 years or more. I have some concerns about some side quality. Primary was as part of this project we had an old awning on the roof. CMS agreed (needed to) take the awning off and patch the roof. In the beginning I spoke to Kevin about using some extra roofing shingles I had in the shed to replace the ones with the holes. Kevin agreed to using these, but at the end of the project I had to ask them multiple times to fix the holes. They finally did but used the cheapest possible roofing paper to glue over the holes. I told him these would not last long and he just denied that and said they would last as long as the roof. Naturally, they all fell off during the first winter and I'll need to now pay a professional roofer big bucks to do the job right. I'm also very concerned about how they sealed the roof of the sunroom to the wall but time will tell on this one. The final straw for me is at the very end of the job we still had a small punch list of items but Kevin wanted final payments. I did express some concerns to him about paying final payment before the last items were done and he was open to me holding some back. But then I felt like he had been so good to work with to date that I would show a good faith in him and just pay up and I was sure he would follow up. Huge mistake. It took many months of me nagging him over and over and over before he finally sent a guy out to fix the most glaring construction piece. But there are still two items we had agreed they would take care of and now he just ignores my texts and it is clear they intend to never finish the job. So - lesson learned, no matter how nice you think they are, never pay the final installment until you are 100% satisfied with the end result. Hold back a minimum of $1,000, or more if the work value is more than that, as enough of an incentive for them to do their job."

"Three Sons Window and Door is an amazing family-owned company. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience with this business. I had extensive damage to my older home (1900), so much so, that other contractors turned down this project due to it's structural problems and complexities. Three Sons solved every single issues (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, structural, cosmetic) and now my home has never functioned or looked better. Cost of projects was reasonable. Paul Nutile, the general contractor, is brilliant; it is a pleasure to do business with him. The workers were outstanding; I was thrilled with the quality of their work. Susan, and the office staff, were always responsive to my questions and on top of every project. I have total trust in this company and have enthusiastically recommended Three Sons to many friends."

"We hired TSB to design-build our addition using their architect. From the first meeting, Doug was responsive and professional and we felt he always had our best interests at heart. Crew was very neat and professional and showed up every day on time. They kept to their initial budget and the only change orders were ones that we requested. They were extremely patient and accommodating with any changes we requested during the process. When issues did arise, TSB addressed them promptly and, in our opinion, always did right by us, their customer. TSB came back several times after the work was completed to address warranty items (like settlement cracks in the plaster) and always did so promptly and without hesitation.

In general, we had an excellent experience with TSB and would highly recommend this company. If all contractors were as responsive and professional as Two Storey, then contractors would not have a bad name. I cannot say enough good things about this company. "

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Whitinsville, MA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
