"<p>George was very punctual.  He was polite and very professional.  He wasted no time, had all the tools that were needed and did more than I expected. He was so tidy and pleasant that I was impressed.  We all decided that we had other small issues that we needed help with. His schedule is very busy but we all (including George) have decided that when he has some otherwise free time in the area he will call and we can expect his professional services when we are all available.  We look forward to enlisting his future aid. His prices were well with-in reason. We are glad that we found this business in our area and intend to tell friends and neighbors. When he is available, we certainly look forward to an ongoing relationship with this service provider.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"<p>I have serious issues with this service. I want to put a review on Angie's List about how unprofessional their manager, Charles, is. I had issues with scheduling and finishing. There were disputes about very bad labor on a certain part of the fence, mostly the gate. It took them months to fix the gate.  </p>"

"Mr. Bennett did great work. He arrived quickly to give the estimate. Although his estimate was not the cheapest we had (also not the most expensive), we went with Mr. Bennett because he was responsive to phone calls, answered any concerns we had, and seemed all around knowledgeable and professional. We think we made a good choice. When weather or other obstacles out of his control appeared, he adapted well and got things done quickly. He also was very friendly, did not go over budget, and, most importantly, the final product looks great. <br />"

"As a new transplant to TX we are using dozens of various companies products and services of which we previously had not dealt. This company is one of the VERY few to do what it says, when it said, how it said and for the cost described upfront. I contacted the sales person, Tim Arp, in June 2013. He showed up at my house on time at 600am (my requested time) to provide me an overview of the product and schedule services. He was on time and incredibly professional. Even though his product/service was more expensive and very similar to others I opted to use his company. He gave me a quote and as promised later that day sent me a draft contract. He was open to multiple changes in the contract to meet our unique requirements (including running piping, moving dirt to a desired location, extra dust prevention, etc). We agreed on a contract term, payment and discount schedule as well as preliminary installation date. Tim proactively kept me updated and met the schedule we had agreed upon, two months earlier to the day. His install crew was on time, professional and pleasant. The product works exactly as described and we couldn't be happier with the experience. It was a pleasure. Anyone who wants a storm shelter should consider this organization as a shining example of what they should receive. By far the best, most professional company we have dealt with since arriving in TX. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Whitney, TX

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
