"All seasons workmanship is horrible. Probably could of hired someone off Craigslist with no experience to do the work and got better results. Tried to get them to do it right, even went to the president of the company but they weren’t having it. Guess the customer isn’t right even if the contract says they’re right. No integrity, no morals, all around con men! From the worker to the head of the company."

"The work was done fairly quick but there where gaps in the foot they never mentioned and the laminate would sink. Also the stairs started to make a noise once again did not mentioned anything. I called they came out made the issue withe sinking laminate worse, never fixed the stairs and the person who did the job brought his teenager and asked my wife to heat up his good. I complained and never heard back from them. Go with a more professional company."

"I've used PMS for probably half a dozen or more projects over the course of the last year and they've been great to work with every time. Stu and his staff respond quickly to questions/emails/etc., show up on time for projects, and are very professional. Would definitely recommend them for whatever project you've got going."
Old tub and tile floor and new tile shower with new LVP.
In the left picture, the floor was very soft at the toilet, so my picture looks crowded, but you can imagine once you look at the picture on the right. On the left all that tile and a cast iron tub (plus all the drywall) gone, and on the right a new deep soaker tub with LVP flooring (oh and new subfloor!), with a sturdy feel through out when done.
Sorry I forgot to take the picture before we started demoing the place (just gets so exciting). Before: that tub was set on a pile of concrete, and the bench section that goes into the shower was full of water. The after picture...sometimes I take a picture when we are close to being done, and I don't want to stop when we are cleaning up to take that picture. I think the picture on the right was taken at the start of our day, and we did prime, paint, grout...but a local glass company was instal
We demoed out that entry door and closet next to the laundry.
Old cast tub and vinyl floor on the left, with new tile walk-in shower and tile floor. Oh, and the vanity swap.

"Star provided the windows, flooring, and stone/tile for our backsplashes and around our fireplace for our new home we had built in 2018. The process selecting the materials was pretty smooth, except they had a pretty small selection for some items. The problems started when they installed our LVP flooring. There were pieces cut too short that eventually moved, exposing the subfloor song the baseboards. It took Star three visits to fix this in our entry way. Now, the same thing has started in our kitchen. Also, they sold us MI windows that have been nothing but problematic. It took them six visits trying to fix the windows before they and the builder decided to replace two of them with casement windows. Now, three years later, those windows are leaking and Star simply told me to pound sand and that I would have to deal with MI on my own. Also, after the LVP flooring was installed the floor started popping when we walk across the living room. As part of the installation, they were supposed to sand down raised areas of the subfloor caused by rain. I don't know if that somehow caused the popping, the weight of the flooring, or what it may have been, but simply reinforcing the subfloor with additional screws would have likely prevented it. Now there isn't an affordable way to fix the popping without pulling up the expensive LVP flooring and replacing it. Thanks, Star. I will never step foot in Star Lumber again. Through example, they have shown time and time again that they don't take care of their customers."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Wichita, KS

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
