"I have an extensive experience with Finn's builders (Chris, James, and Kenny) Over the last 3 years they have revamped my ranch style house with innovative ideas, and expert solutions: rebuilding walls and floors of a veranda, redesigning the interior stairs to the basement. They painted and re-organized the garage. They installed Anderson windows in 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms They repaired a walking shower, came up with a clever solution for an uncomfortable shower system. Likewise, they installed electrical outlets and lighting in the living rooms and painted 3 rooms with maximum efficiency and minimum fuss. I like their working style and their ingenuity. I rely on their team for keeping my house in shape and my mind at peace. I recommend them without reservation."

"?Trust me, we all know what you want? - ?It?s just a little wooden cabin?, per contractor. ? 3-piece shower insert is separating ? Allowed tracked equipment through the septic area although we insisted he avoid that part of our property. ? Drywall nails popping, gouges, over sanding, neglected sanding, seams showing, incomplete job we had to repair, then we primed and painted as agreed. ? New mini splits used during drywall sanding required professional cleaning. ? Hole in wall from previous exhaust vent not sealed or prepped for closed cell foam insulation application. ? Contractor underestimated cost of plumbing and electric by thousands. ? Cabinetry, our onus, after contractor presented an incomplete drawing and measurements. Carpentry team was easy to work with and did a good job, however; we paid a premium of 20% for a contractor who we felt was unfocused and never took the job seriously in the provision of appropriate oversight in renovating ?our little wooden cabin?. "????? If I could give zero stars, I would Hiring this contractor was a nightmare from start to finish. The bathroom they delivered is so poorly done that I feel like I need to redo it entirely. They rely on subpar subcontractors with no professionalism or craftsmanship. ? Overpromise and underdeliver: I had to stay on top of every detail myself, doing the job the contractor was hired to manage. ? Unreliable: Never kept appointments or confirmed schedules. The only time they showed up on time was to collect payment. ? Unsafe practices: At one point, a subcontractor was cutting concrete inside the bathroom with a gas?powered tool, filling my entire home with smoke. I had to intervene to stop it and argue just to get basic protections like tarps in place. ? Poor management: Subcontractors openly complained about not being paid, and I even had to send one home myself because of unacceptable behavior. ? End result: Substandard work that does not reflect the money spent. Save yourself "
FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in Williamsburg, MA

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
