"I would highly recommend Wall to Wall Construction, Inc. if you want an honest, reliable, and fair pricing general contractor. Following a massive snowstorm in 2016, I had water coming into my basement. My basement was under construction with a contractor who I shall not name but who stated the water coming into the basement wasn't their problem. Not having time to debate, I went on a search for waterproofing companies both on and off Angie's List. After meeting with several companies that specialize in waterproofing techniques, I decided to try a general contractor, and I contacted Wall to Wall. Julio Angel met me at my home for the appointment, and he was amiable and on time. I walked Julio through my basement, and I showed him where the water was coming in – intruding water was still visible. Julio noticed that I was having work done on my basement as there was a new concrete floor, framing, electrical and plumbing rough-ins. Concerned Julio asked me whether any inspections took place on the work done in my basement. I only knew about a framing inspection but nothing else. At that point, Julio commented to me that I might have a bigger problem on my hands other than just water coming into the basement. Julio observed sheared footers, a new slab, and rough-in plumbing that would require inspections if they hadn't already taken place. Julio suggested and recommended me to a structural engineer to have the footers and structure inspected. As it went, Julio had good reason to be concerned about what he saw, along with shoddy un-workman like construction the first contractor structurally comprised my home. I ended up hiring Julio to provide me with a report showing other construction deficiencies in the work that was performed by the other contractor. Julio with Wall to Wall Construction brought my attention to serious construction deficiencies. Along the way, Julio made himself available to any construction and process questions I had. While it was stressful to learn and resolve, I appreciate Julio's honesty, concern, and openness about my construction project. If not for Julio, I would have a finished and closed basement with unknown structural issues and construction problems. I trust Julio completely when it comes to construction. He takes his time to understand your needs and the scope of your project. He educated me on the how's and why's, and I trust him to perform the underpinning work that needs to be done to fix the shoddy work done previously. Big or small Wall to Wall is who I will always recommend to my family and friends. I'm grateful to Julio, thanks!"

"Prior to our discussion, they requested pictures of the work needed in order to assess the damage. Shortly thereafter, I got a call about the work. Although the company does not do wrought iron repairs, I got some excellent information about the work needed and advice on how to cost-effectively proceed with the job. In addition, they outlined a "do it yourself" repair to filling the hole which will be much more cheaper than hiring the job out and said to call back if a more extensive solution was needed. I am very grateful for the honest assessment and guidance! The information they provided was excellent and likely to save a lot of $$! Should any work be needed, I will be sure to call them again!"

"Had a 5 foot long crack in my poured-concrete basement wall. It was not leaking, but I wanted to have it sealed regardless. Alek came on a Saturday, gave me his estimate, and then repaired the wall. He was very forthcoming by explaining that the repair was not absolutely necessary if there was no leakage, but I wanted it sealed anyway. He did a top rate job and I would not hesitate to use his services again."

"This is an old garage on a slab of concrete but with one corner of the slab cut away where previous owners had a sauna. They had divided the building in half, an office in one part, a workshop in the other. On one side of the building an unused door had been left in place, and siding along the bottom of the wall was rotting.  I asked Eric and Mickey of A+ Handyman to take the door out, replace the entire wall, which had rot along the bottom, and close up the space on the inside with drywall. Additionally, they cleaned up some rot around another door frame, replaced a boards on other walls along the ground and patched a couple of other places where there was damage or rot. We made an appointment for them to come and give me an estimate--they arrived promptly, gave me the estimate in a few days, and completed the work as planned, adjusting the estimate downward slightly to match the work done. <br>Nice people who do good work for a reasonable price. <br> <br> <br>"

"Bright Construction did a great job. They worked with us to understand what we needed and provided a very clear and reasonable quote. Their scheduling team was friendly and got us scheduled quickly. The crew did an excellent job. Our driveway looks great and they were done in the timeframe promised. I was very impressed with their professionalism and would definitely use them again!"

"The job was completed as asked. The quality of their work has always been good. I've been using them for more than 15 years and I wouldn't use anyone else. Before this job they'd installed a sump pump and French drain along two walls of my basement, and another sump pump and French drain in my garage. Whenever one of their systems has had problems, they came back and fixed it for little or no cost (depending on the issue). I think basement waterpoofing is inherently difficult, and sometimes things don't always work as intended... Eventually we got leakage around an old basement door despite a drain they installed at the base of the door to channel water into the French drain. Years later they came back and added cement to correct the problem at no charge. When there was a question over specs on the garage system, they gave me the benefit of the doubt. I guess if the leaks are due to poor design I wouldn't know, but I think it's just the nature of water and my basement. Their work on this particular project was fine. They seem to have resolved the seepage issue I was having through the cinder block. During the work, they sealed off the area with plastic tarp to prevent dust from getting outside the area, though you should supervise that part of the operation since ultimately it's your house, not theirs. The cost seemed reasonable. The only issue I have is with their responsiveness regarding future projects. I almost gave them a "B" because of that. Each time I want to get new work done, it's arduous to get an estimate. Once they said someone would get back to me and didn't. I had to keep calling. Another time I had an appointment with their estimator but he got the date wrong (I only found out because he called ahead of time to cancel the appointment). On another project, the estimator didn't show up all day, and when I called, he said he'd forgotten. He sent another estimator ASAP, and I appreciate the honesty, but still it's an issue. James is their local estimator and manager. When an out-of-town estimator came in, there was no problem at all. But I've never found them to be unresponsive when it came to urgent problems. (They're the opposite of Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing, which is very pushy on the sales end and costs more)."

"We obtained cost estimates from six different companies. One company was a "design & build" firm which mandated design services exceeding our needs; the other five companies were traditional remodeling firms. Interestingly, with the exception of one "low-ball" quote, every company estimated material costs within a couple hundred dollars of one another. What set Ryan Reph Remodeling apart from its competitors was a slightly lower labor rate which, when matched with its high ratings/reviews on Angie's List, led us to select Ryan Reph -- a decision with which we are absolutely delighted. Our initial meeting with Selwa, Ryan's wife who produced the project estimate, immediately confirmed the rationale for our selection. Not only did she perform the expected tasks of noting project requirements and taking measurements, she also spent an unhurried amount of time listening to our less than precise expectations (e.g., master bathroom needs to "feel like a spa" and the guest bathroom needs to incorporate the "beach flow" of the main house design). In response, Selwa offered a number of design, structural and material options that fell within our budget. Equally impressive, she returned a complete "breakout" cost estimate within 24 hours which captured everything we had discussed. Once our contract was signed, we were scheduled to meet with Ryan Reph preferred providers spanning plumbing fixtures & hardware, vanities, countertops and tile. Each provider had our material allowance quote to work from (sent by Ryan) and on the occasions we exceeded a specific item estimate (e.g., shower wall accent tile) the provider worked diligently to reduce costs in accompanying areas. Our material selections were sent directly to Ryan who, in turn, managed the ordering, delivery and, at project conclusion, the return for credit of several boxes of excess floor & wall tile. On only one occasion did we chose a different vendor from Ryan's list (vanity countertops) after finding remnants at a lower cost. Our vendor choice in that instance was quickly incorporated into Ryan's project timeline. Most importantly, the quality of workmanship Ryan's team provided was exemplary. They were always on schedule, very polite and conscientious, always informative and remarkably faithful in cleaning up at the end of each day. We are hard-pressed to find superlatives to describe the work Osmar and Ananias delivered, but let us say ... they became family members we looked forward to greeting each morning! On two occasions we decided to expand the project requirements leading to change orders (e.g., enlarging the master bathroom shower stall by extending the stall into a hallway closet). The adjustments (which certainly were a small boost to the company's revenue, but undoubtedly created a scheduling impact on their resources & project scheduling) were immediately incorporated without any issue into our own project timeline. Using standard project metrics we can truly say Ryan Reph Remodeling provided superior service, within budget and on schedule. Yet, there's one last intangible that needs to be addressed -- the business principles of this company. Their commitment to customer satisfaction might only be exceeded by their commitment to others. Every single item removed from our bathrooms was assessed for contribution to Habitat for Humanity with any donation receipt returned to us for our tax filing. Ryan Reph Remodeling is guided by a moral compass that, in turn, inspires its employees (competent in their own right) to meet a higher standard of service delivery than any other we've encountered. Bottom line: we're very pleased with our new bathrooms, very grateful to have met people who share our sense of ethics and prepared to bring Ryan Reph back for additional remodeling projects in the new year."

"So like a number of other house, we had sinking front concrete steps. Our sizable front stairs had sunk about 6 inches and pull the attached walk with it. It got to the point we just had to have them replaced. I checked out various options for having them mud-jacked, but my concern was that that would not really fix the issue for the long term and they would just end up sinking again. After getting several bids we went with Tavis at Quality Concrete and Masonry. They weren't the cheapest bid but seemed the most trustworthy and had the best plan to make sure the problem did not re-occur. Tavis started on a Tuesday and was essentially work complete by Saturday. His work was very high quality. Because of the site, amount of concrete, etc. he used 1.5" rebar instead of the standard 0.5" rebar to tie the steps to the house. ( I've never even seen 1.5" rebar before.) Site was left clean each day and the final product exceeded our expectations."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Winchester, VA

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
