"I worked all the details with Kevin through phone and email.  Kevin delivered on every detail we had agreed to.  Action Carpet made an initial visit to explain what they were going to do.  They then came in on the scheduled date.  Moved all furniture items, removed the old carpet, installed new carpet, installed door transitions, and moved all furniture items back to where they were.  Highly recommended!!! <br />"

"<p>I  am very happy with both the carpet & service Carpet & Tile By The Mile provided.</p> <p>Denise came to my home to help me pick out a carpet brand & color. With her help I decided to go with the Mohawk Smart Strain in a neutral color</p> <p>Having wall to wall carpeting installed is a disruptive process, ( everything has to be removed from the room)  but Trevor & the installers made it as least disruptive as possible. The installers worked efficiently, clean & were a pleasure to be around.</p> <p>It was very nice to work with a family owned business that gives that personal touch!!  </p> <p>I plan to use them again for all my flooring needs</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Lorraine</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"We were thrilled with the service. The rugs look great, with the colors more vibrant than before. And John Balayan was incredibly service-oriented: helped to move the furniture when he removed the rugs, and put the furniture back in place when he and Jonathan returned them...even asking to make sure it was angled the way we wanted it!"

"This is the second time that we have used Schneider's for flooring and we were very pleased with the quality and variety of the flooring available. Also we were very pleased with the installation. They truly go the extra mile to make sure that you are happy with both their product and installation. They were very patient with my wife and I in picking out the product that we wanted within our budget and showing us options if we wanted to step up or down in price. They always respond very quickly to phone calls and installation was done in a timely manner. We found there installers to be skilled and knowledgable. When installing new carpet the first time we used them, we mentioned to the installer that our floors squeaked in a number of places and asked him if he could do anything about it. He fixed most of the squeaks by putting in additional screws to tighten up the subfloor at no extra charge. We were very happy since we were preparing to out the house on the market. <br />"

"It went fairly well , the laminate flooring ,workers were nice.,BUT Neatness is NOT one of their strong points. Collin At The store was Very accommodating and helpful.I thought that they did not use the products that were paid for in advance , wisely,as a lot of product opened so as not returnable ,that was left unused & unneeded and could have saved $ on the project. .Also .Seemed to be a lack of supervision/over site on what the workers were doing,a few things they did seemed hokey,as not having the proper tools/stuff/for the job so cut corners. The carpet people were good. .Overall The floors came out good, but time will tell. Would == Rehire ==maybe yes/maybe no.."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Windsor Locks, CT

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
