"Sales and Installation: <br /> Their sales staff was professional and courteous.  The installation went well and on schedule.  The group that installed the patio were very polite, respectful of our home, and were true professionals.  I have nothing bad to say about the quality of our room and how happy we are with our purchase.  We love our enclosed patio. <br /> Service:  <br /> Approximately 6 months ago, the lock on our sliding glass door stopped functioning and we were unable to lock this door.  Long story short, I have been calling for service now for 6 months and no service person has called me back.  The part that is most bothersome is that everytime I call for service I actually talk to a real person in the Fisher's office, so it's not like I'm leaving messages on a voicemail that no one checks.  I called several times in 2014 with no call back.  I was so bothered by this that I actually stopped by their showroom in Fishers in December of 2014 and spoke to someone.  I was told that they would call in two weeks.  No call.  I then called some time in early February of 2015 and was told again it would be two weeks.  No call again.  Today is 27th of March and I called once more for service and was told that someone would call me back.  Needless to say I'm not expecting a phone call back. <br /> In conclusion, I have nothing but praise for our room and how much enjoyment we've gotten out of it.  I'm just a little confused as to why they are so reluctant to fix a simple lock on a sliding door?  My concern is that if someone is going to be ignored for a little problem like this, what if someone has a big problem (structurally) they they need this company to address?  I hired this company based on Angie's List reviews, along with their (perceived) professionalism and warranty of work.  I have held off writing a review since this seems like such a small issue, but I feel that I've been more than patient.  I just want the lock fixed. <br /> <br /> Update 04-Apr-2015: The service person arrived today and replaced the lock.  The whole thing took about 10 minutes.  Service person gave me his card and said from now on, call him directly.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Todd and Rod Pickett the owners of Affordable Windows were excellent to work with.  Our home was one of their larger projects this year with over 31 windows being installed plus a new patio door.  This project was the largest effort we've undertaken on our home costing over $14,000.  <br /> Choosing which windows to purchase is a daunting endeavor with so many on the market to choose from. After evaluating our needs and requirements Todd recommended a company out of Chicago called Lang Exteriors.  We were not familiar with the company but Todd has used their product for years and recommended them highly.  After conducting some online research we discovered they were a 60 year old company and one of the largest windows manufacture in the mid-west.  We instructed Todd to order the windows and let?s do it. <br /> Approximately 30 days later Todd and crew began the job.  It took them over a week to complete all the installations.  During <br /> that entire time they were very respectful of our home, our property and our landscaping.  But more importantly the quality of the windows and installation was superior.  The difference these windows have made in our home has made the investment well worth it.  <br /> We live near a busy road and the noise reduction we estimate is around 40-50% and air infiltration is nil. <br /> The only issue we encountered with the windows was a crooked grill in the patio door.  My wife noticed it the day it was installed but well after the crew had left for the day.  I immediately typed an email to Todd informing him of our issue.  To our surprise Todd was back at our home an hour-and-half later taking pictures of the window to share with the manufacture the very next day. Todd requested an entire new door not just the glass insert.  As of this writing the door has yet to be replaced but I have every confidence it will be addressed.  <br /> We were so impressed with the crew and quality of work we also requested a quote to replace several bad trim boards around our home.  We decided to pass for now as the cost was too much for budget. <br />   <br /> All-and-all a great experience and we highly recommend Affordable Windows to anyone considering windows or any other remodeling project. <br />"

"The estimated time given from purchase to installation was several weeks off (it did say “estimated” on contract). Given the supply and labor issues everyone is facing, I can understand. It was just disappointing. I wish they would have said 10-16 weeks instead of 8-10 then my expectations wouldn’t have been so high. They replaced my blinds no problem and my patio screens are great. The installers were very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them, just don’t be in a rush."

"The salesperson was very knowledgeable about products, friendly and did not try to oversell us on anything. The quality of the windows is great and as advertised. The service to put them in and quality of communication was a bit different. We had an appointment scheduled for early Saturday am to have windows put in and received a phone call the day before that they weren't coming until the afternoon. We had to reschedule our Saturday afternoon plans to accommodate them. There was no reference to whether that was ok...just that they weren't coming until the afternoon. They did call my husband Sat am to ask if it was ok. Kind of late then! After they were installed, we inspected them and had to have someone come back out the next business day and redo one window because it was not done properly as could easily be seen. We also had to clean up the work site areas as there was insulation and caulk on the ground where our dogs could have eaten it. The windows had big smudges, finger prints and sticky residue that had to be scrapped off that was left from stickers on the outside of the windows that we had to clean off. Doesn't seem like a huge deal but in the end, it does matter. They cleaned the inside but left the outside ones with stuff all over them. When we called on Monday to let them know there were issues, we had to leave a message with salesperson who didn't return call until late that afternoon. They did come out the next day to address the issues and did fix the one window. Overall, we are happy with the windows. There are many other window companies to choose from and as we move forward with the next project that includes at least 4 or 5 more windows, we will look for a company that provides better communication from the office, doesn't leave a job site so messy nor leaves when it is clear the job is not finished properly. We are pleased the issue was the one window not being installed properly was handled quickly, however, it should have never happened. We wish them well!"

"Paul was on time, pleasant and had plenty of creative ideas.  He listened to me! used much of my input, and together came up with a great plan.  He adjusted as we went along, as some ideas came as I saw things taking <br /> shape, yet he stayed within my budget. He re-graded my back yard so water <br /> would flow away from the house.  I had many bricks, 4x4's and chunks of <br /> cement that I wanted to re-use and Paul was 100% for that. He built <br /> curved brick walkway, patio and driveway, flagstone area (with the cement), re-built fire-pit (in a prettier design than was there), planted what I wanted and seeded. He divided another plant for me. He did a lot of little extra things, too.  <br /> Except for one little corner where stuff didn't grow, EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT! I would recommend and re-hire Paul. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Wingate, IN

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
