"Things were going well.  Adam was great in working with us to keep cost as low as possible.  We took care of the dumpster and removed the majority of the old tile and sub floor ourselves, as well as the base boards.  We also pulled any staples as he told us things needed to be as smooth as possible before laying down the new under layment. We basically had a sub-floor over a sub-floor, which is why we had many cracked tiles and grout.  What a mess!  The only issue was that it took much longer than we thought, that was due to the fact that he began to work us into the schedule, but another job his worker was on took more time than expected I guess.  So Adam worked  a few hours in the morning and early afternoon and then had to get back to the business.  I believe the entire job took about 5 weeks.  About the 2nd week he was able to get another worker in.  The only big issue was that he was unaware of our radiant floor heating, that led to 4 tubes punctured and a mess in the basement.  He did give us some recompense for that issue.
All in all the floor looks great. Another side note is that the tile needed to be ordered and it got here within a week, we thought it would be 6 weeks.  So that was a small plus.  Happy to say pretty much everything else is carpet.

"Great job on tiling a large bathroom! Fast, clean, and as promised. It's very pretty! They were also able do some unplanned wall texturing and it was well done. Excellent price and professional crew that cleaned up after themselves too. We were missing some of the supplies and they went and got them for me. I would absolutely recommend and use El Toro again!"

"Wonderful! John was so pleasant to work with. Big personality and ready to please! We only wanted to finish a bathroom and not the whole basement at the time and I couldn't find any contractors willing to just do the bathroom until I talked to Improvement Pros. I caught him just as he was completing another job so he was able to start right away which I needed because we were going to have company nearly the entire month of June and wanted that bathroom done for guests. The new bathroom turned out beautifully. Due to the placement of the previously placed rough-ins we had to spend a little more and go a little more custom than we originally planned but John worked with our budget and it turned out better than we expected and it is gorgeous. Prettiest bathroom in the house, which is sad because its our guest bath so I don't get to enjoy it as much. John was great to work with and any issues we had were with the tile and drywall sub contractors, but when we brought it to John's attention, he made it right immediately which included paying for a cleaning company to come in and clean up all the drywall and tile dust the sub contractors left behind and even most of the rest of my house so I didn't even have to stress about cleaning my house before my guests arrived! When we have the funds, we plan to use him again to finish the rest of the basement. I recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor or handyman service because he can make it happen. Thanks again John!"

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Woodland Park, CO

Sealing grout delivers excellent value by creating a moisture barrier that prevents water penetration, staining, and deterioration. Unsealed grout becomes a magnet for dirt and moisture, which can lead to discoloration, mold growth, and eventual breakdown of the grout structure. Regular sealing maintenance creates a protective barrier that not only preserves your tile's appearance but also simplifies routine cleaning and extends the overall lifespan of your installation.

When combining professional grout cleaning with sealing services, expect to pay between $3 and $4 per square foot for challenging surfaces like natural stone or heavily soiled areas. This comprehensive approach ensures your grout is thoroughly cleaned before sealer application, maximizing the effectiveness and longevity of the treatment. The cleaning process removes embedded dirt and contaminants that might otherwise become sealed into the grout, providing superior long-term results.

Certain grout formulations, particularly epoxy-based products, come with built-in moisture resistance that eliminates the need for additional sealing. These specialized grouts naturally repel water and resist staining without supplemental treatment.

Additionally, if your existing grout still demonstrates good water-beading properties from previous sealing, immediate reapplication may be unnecessary. Professional contractors evaluate your specific grout type, condition, and location before making recommendations about sealing requirements.

An average DIY grout sealing project for a 160-square-foot area requires about three hours, though this timeline can extend significantly for first-time applicators or challenging spaces. Professional contractors can complete the same area in two to five hours, depending on project complexity and required preparation. The experience gap often shows in application consistency and efficiency, with professionals delivering more uniform coverage in less time than most homeowners can achieve, especially on initial attempts.
