Warranties offered

"We had the kitchen floor redone in porcelain tile. We were very picky about everything meeting the manufacturer's warranty. The thinset under the underlayment, the GoBoard underlayment, the thinset for large tile format, the tile, and lastly, the epoxy grout all had special requirements to meet the lifetime warranty. James, the owner of Patriot Flooring, reassured us by guaranteeing that every step of the installation would meet the strict requirements. Joshua was our installer. He did an amazing job. He took his time and did "everything by the book," so it took an extra 3 days of drying time, but now it is good for a lifetime—definitely worth the wait! The floor is now a beautiful marble-green and matches the hunter green countertops. It's quite stunning. To top off the experience, Patriot Floorings' estimate was roughly $2,000. less than two of the other estimates I got for the job. A great job at a great price!"

"I found Lynn on Angie's list and called to set up an estimate. He estimated rather low for the actual time that it took to complete the job (his estimate was $98--based on the assumption that the job would take a few hours.) He provided the tools (I had already purchased most materials), which was a blessing since the tile store had given me the wrong kind of tile-cutter. Lynn did an excellent job with the installation (the rock was crumbly and turned out to be difficult to work with). He created a side border with the marble bricks that made a clean even border between the backsplash and the painted wall. He cut the pieces with appropriate precision and worked with care and focus until the job was done. I decided to pay him more than we had agreed to when I saw how much longer the work actually took (2 days instead of the couple of hours he had predicted), but he was very gracious and probably would have accepted the original estimate. He's a man of integrity and skill."

"Everything went great! We had our 50+ year old oak hardwood floors refinished and had new hardwood installed in the kitchen and office. Everything match perfectly. I would definitely recommend Biernot Flooring."

"We just had our office floors replaced by Artistic Floors. Best experience with a contractor EVER. Owner showed up on time for our meeting to get a quote.Materials came in on time. Staff showed up promptly the day of install. They finished in exactly the amount of time they said they would. They were courteous and clean throughout install and cleaned the entire front walk, driveway and path throughout house that they used to get to the room. There were parts of the install (pieces of baseboard) that couldn’t be finished because of a large built in we we were waiting on. As soon as I contacted owner to let him know we were ready, the team was there (on time) a few days later to complete . Awesome job and product and floors look great!"

"The work was awesome. We had the old fiberglass tub and surround from the 80's. Wolak came in and replaced it with a new deep soak tub and tile surround. New tile on the floor. Replaced the vanity and toilet. Even the exhaust fan. They also replaced sheetrock and painted to give us a new modern bathroom look. Wolak didn't need to rely on any sub-contractors. Like a one-stop-shop for remodelling. The installer was very friendly and professional. He listened carefully to what we had in mind, made some great suggestions and now we have a dream bathroom. Thank you Mark and Chris!!!!"

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Norfolk, VA

Use a stiff-bristle brush and warm, soapy water to loosen surface grime. Then, let the grout dry and finish with a grout-specific sealant. This combo cleans without scratching the tile and locks out new stains. Always follow the label directions so the cleaner and sealant bond properly. A few extra minutes of care keep grout bright and help your floors look fresher longer.

The most effective cleaner for badly stained grout is a professional-grade steam machine. High-pressure, high-heat vapor lifts embedded dirt without harsh chemicals and brightens grout lines in one pass. Pros often pre-treat tough spots with a mild solution and finish with a soft brush to protect the tile. The result is a deep, even clean that lasts longer than store-bought products.

Tile and grout are water-resistant, not waterproof. Dense materials like porcelain or glass shed moisture well, but even sealed natural stone and standard cement grout can absorb water over time. That’s why routine sealing and prompt spill cleanup matter.

Keeping moisture out prevents erosion, mold, and discoloration—especially in bathrooms, kitchens, and other splash-prone areas.

Schedule professional tile and grout cleaning every six to 12 months, with quick touch-ups in between. Busy kitchens and bathrooms often need attention on the shorter end of that range because constant moisture speeds up staining.

Sticking to this routine keeps grime from setting, reduces mold risk, and stretches the life of your tile and grout, saving you from bigger repairs later.

When done correctly, tile and grout cleaning is perfectly safe for your floors. Pros match cleaners and brushes to your tile type, control pressure, and avoid harsh chemicals that can etch or erode surfaces.

If you’re DIYing, test new products in an inconspicuous spot and follow label directions. The right technique removes buildup while protecting both the tile glaze and the grout lines.

Yes—apply a fresh sealer once the grout is completely dry, usually 24 hours after cleaning. The sealer forms a moisture-resistant barrier that blocks stains, mold, and everyday dirt, making future scrubbing easier. Skipping this step leaves porous grout exposed, which can lead to discoloration or cracks and, ultimately, expensive repairs. A quick reseal now protects both the grout and the surrounding tile.
