"Yes, the job was well done and on time. We had a problem with the tile and grout in our walk-in shower. He explained what the problems were with the original installation and then cleaned the tile and replaced the grout. He also installed shower bars which will help us from falling in the shower. We highly recommend this gentleman."

"We purchased a home and our first undertaking was to install tile in the formal dining room and carpet in the library. The owner, Eric, spent a lot of time with us understanding the "look" we wanted and helped us choose the products accordingly. He has a great selection from which to choose, btw. We scheduled the installation about a month in advance. Eric's tile guy was AMAZING. I've never seen a contractor work so fast, meticulously and competently. He tore out the old flooring and laid the tile on day one. Left no mess and hauled away all the old flooring. He came back the next day and grouted the tile. It looks fantastic. It is one of the most "wow-factor" rooms in our home. The next day, the carpet guy arrived and we had our new carpet installed in a couple of hours. Again - a hard-working, fast and very competent worker. Overall, we have been extremely happy with this whole process. Not only was Eric great in helping us decide what to get - but his crews were efficient, fast and do great work. I've hired a lot of contractors in my years, but this has to have been one of the better experiences. I'd use them again. HIGHLY recommended! A+"

"Oksana, Iven, and Daniel were wonderful to work with throughout this project. We had cement board, tile/grout, bath hardware, and a glass panel installed by them. They were very efficient and precise, asking the right questions, clarifying, and completing the job in three days from start to finish. For any materials we didn’t already have, they procured. We couldn’t be more happy with our new shower, it is absolutely gorgeous! So glad we went with them!"

"Everything went wonderfully. First, Zeus got back to me quickly. He came over and gave me an extensive quote. Left nothing out, so no surprises. We agreed on a price and start date He has a great relationship with a local wholesaler, so I got my carpet and flooring at a good price. Huge selection and very professional help in selecting our stuff. Zeus is well regarded there so they like working with his clients. Work started on time but finished early! Guys were so professional. Cleaned everything. Left nothing behind and the work quality was outstanding. The entire house looks like new. They were punctual. Zeus always gets back to my texts within minutes. He is super responsive."

"The guy that started my project had a family emergency had to leave my project unfinished. Another guy offered to come on his days off to finish for me. Did a great job of cleaning up the tile job I had been dealing with that was in bad shape. He made my countertop look fantastic. I love it and was assured that grout/tile will not come up even around sink where it is wet all the time!"

"Disappointed. Sound Tile and Grout was on the pricer side and I definitely did not feel that I received what I paid for. Part of the initial install was done poorly (more joints than necessary, see picture) and required the provider to return to reinstall portions of the tile which I was charged extra for. The provider did not clean up at the end of each day nor was the area thoroughly cleaned after the job was completed. The provider left pieces of tile on our front sidewalk and a track of dirt and debris down our stairwell. Grout haze was also not fully removed. At the end of the day the completed install did turn out well, but I would not recommend this company due to the above concerns."

"Mark Haight himself came out to measure our building's hallways and stairs for new carpet. Mark later dropped off sample boards. After we'd chosen the carpet, we shopped around. We ended up giving Haight the work in the end because they submitted the most reasonable bid. My primary contact, by email and phone, was with Melita. She helped with the samples and she scheduled the work. Melita was exceptionally easy to work with.Shortly before the removal/installation date, Seattle City Light informed us that power would be out to the block on installation day, for utility work. I was willing to reschedule, but Melita consulted her crew. They wanted to go forward despite the possible blackout conditions. The power did go out, early, and yet the crew performed carpet removal under extraordinary conditions: on a hot day, no lights indoors, using only headlamps that I provided them (they really should've brought their own, though), with black dust in the air due to the old carpet pad having disintegrated. After the installation, I noticed that a set of small, regular holes were visible in all the 2nd floor hallway carpet. There were also some scuffs to the interior paint. Haight sent a guy out to examine the work. He touched up the scuffs. He also determined that the 2nd floor holes were due to one of the installers using an improper technique. Mark Haight himself called later and said that they would come back and reinstall the 2nd floor carpet at their own expense. They did. So although I was disappointed by the initial installation error (the holes), we were pleased by the final result. Kudos to Mark Haight for being a real professional and getting the error fixed for us as soon as possible. "

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Seattle, WA

Use a stiff-bristle brush and warm, soapy water to loosen surface grime. Then, let the grout dry and finish with a grout-specific sealant. This combo cleans without scratching the tile and locks out new stains. Always follow the label directions so the cleaner and sealant bond properly. A few extra minutes of care keep grout bright and help your floors look fresher longer.

The most effective cleaner for badly stained grout is a professional-grade steam machine. High-pressure, high-heat vapor lifts embedded dirt without harsh chemicals and brightens grout lines in one pass. Pros often pre-treat tough spots with a mild solution and finish with a soft brush to protect the tile. The result is a deep, even clean that lasts longer than store-bought products.

Tile and grout are water-resistant, not waterproof. Dense materials like porcelain or glass shed moisture well, but even sealed natural stone and standard cement grout can absorb water over time. That’s why routine sealing and prompt spill cleanup matter.

Keeping moisture out prevents erosion, mold, and discoloration—especially in bathrooms, kitchens, and other splash-prone areas.

Schedule professional tile and grout cleaning every six to 12 months, with quick touch-ups in between. Busy kitchens and bathrooms often need attention on the shorter end of that range because constant moisture speeds up staining.

Sticking to this routine keeps grime from setting, reduces mold risk, and stretches the life of your tile and grout, saving you from bigger repairs later.

When done correctly, tile and grout cleaning is perfectly safe for your floors. Pros match cleaners and brushes to your tile type, control pressure, and avoid harsh chemicals that can etch or erode surfaces.

If you’re DIYing, test new products in an inconspicuous spot and follow label directions. The right technique removes buildup while protecting both the tile glaze and the grout lines.

Yes—apply a fresh sealer once the grout is completely dry, usually 24 hours after cleaning. The sealer forms a moisture-resistant barrier that blocks stains, mold, and everyday dirt, making future scrubbing easier. Skipping this step leaves porous grout exposed, which can lead to discoloration or cracks and, ultimately, expensive repairs. A quick reseal now protects both the grout and the surrounding tile.
