""Mold-like" substance was found during home inspection. As the seller, it was my responsibility to have this corrected. I wanted my home to be in excellent condition for the new owners. I knew this would be pricey, and I though quite messy. Tommy Mayes called me back immediately and scheduled an assessment the next day. Within 4 days they were there and completed the mold remediation job. Tommy and David are truly honest, dependable, reasonably priced and amazing. I worried about the house getting dirty from the work being done in the attic. You couldn't even tell they had been in the house. Without question, this is the very best company I have ever worked for and I would recommend them to anyone."

"I don't know who all of you had that made your experience so grand but this company has been nothing but a headache. They somehow didn't include in the cleaning quote to clean where the fire started. That's kind of a no brainer. They continuously say one thing and do another. The "cleaning" job was handed over to Two teenage girls that I have to micro manage to make sure the job is done properly. That's their professional clean up crew. The other crew got debris all over our two couchs that are barely over 2 years old and costs near 3000 dollars have not even attempted to suggest that they will clean it. They got debris all over my television and to the credit of the boss "Harry"they were told to clean it up but they didn't and he never checked to make sure so it's just sitting There. There is about 2 days of work left but we will see how long it takes them to finish the job. I'm sure Harry is a private contractor perhaps contracted out by shambaugh but anytime I need to ask something I have to take it up with shambaugh and not the contractor. Poor communication. Poor workmanship. Poor everything. We had a problem and we were trying to hash it out so Garrett and some other person came over with an attitude and told my landlord he was being "aggressive" when all he was doing was trying to explain in a calm manner. Then Garrett walked over to our kitchen counter and slammed down the cleaning quote like a child. They changed their tune when they realized my fiancee was recording them on her cell phone. I also just caught my contractor talking crap about us because he accidentally texted me when he thought he was texting someone else just because he misunderstood something i said in a text. It's like high school all over again dealing with these people. They act like they are doing us a favor or charity when they are getting paid thousands of dollars to do a JOB and I have to make sure my contractors teenage daughters actually clean. They have lied and said they have done things I know they have not done and then I get an attitude from either Harry or someone from this company. Go elsewhere. And find a company that will treat you properly. I am writing this before the work is complete but so far it's been horrible. Also as a note for our lawyer if they read this and decide to treat us badly for giving our honest opinion of this company I wouldn't be surprised if the two teenage girls showed up to clean our carpets with a rug doctor..i mean **** I think they are painting our kitchen too"

"Storm Damage: During the storm a tree fell on my house, damaging the roof, chimney, gutters, soffit, siding; etc. <br /> I called my Insurance Company, they contacted Purofirst Disaster Services. Purofirst called me and was at the property immediately; tarps were placed on the damage roof because of the heavy rain and flying debri. The tree was removed from the roof and the remainder was torn out and disposed. <br /> The roof was completely replaced, the chimney, gutters, soffit and siding were repaired and or replaced.  The debri was cleaned-up and hauled away.  The job was done in a professional and timely manner.  I have no complaints. <br /> Joe Yates was the individual in charge and my contact from Purofirst Disaster Services.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"PuroClean showed up and began immediately to dry the damage floors. They also worked with our insurance company helping them understand the damage caused by the leak in a very short time, like less than a week. They were professional and provided Value for the their work including drying the damp areas from below the floor and above removing the possibility of a mold issue."

"Larry and his two associates arrived on time and Larry covered the entry from my garage to the basement to protect the entry floor.  Larry had a checklist he covered with me and the team immediately started the crawlspace work, bringing their materials and ladder to the basement.  The existing fiberglass insulation was removed from the crawlspace as well as other debri.  The insulation was placed in large bags before removing from the house.  Insulation was then added to rim joists and around the crawlspace walls.  At that point the gravel was smoothed on the crawlspace floor and the liner was rolled out.  The liner was sealed to the walls. This work took about six hours.  After the Basement Guys team had left I did notice that one area of the liner / crawlspace wall had not been sealed well.  We called the Basement Guys and they returned within a week to finish by sealing this area. <br />"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Worthington, KY

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
