I met Chris Palyan from Newhaus Roofing & Construction. Chris Came to our home. Got on the roof, and also inspected from the attic. This was going to be a large project. Including removal & reinstallation of dozens of solar panels and removal of the original concrete tiles. We had been ignoring our known roof leaks for a long time. Southern California droughts allowed us to keep delaying the roof replacement. Those decisions did cost us dearly. YES we knew better. Chris provided a very complete quote. Including excellent products to be used. In our case anticipating damage under the tiles. Chris included in his proposal identified costs for correction as it was uncovered. ".The guy came and looked at my roof but I don’t think he looked at it closely because he said that my roof is a candidate for painting and that I need do just little repair.  He quoted $4500 to do some repairs and to do the painting. He missed the mark because I spoke to him at length.  I told him that another roofer came and lifted the underneath part which you did not lift up and everything came apart. So he did not do a thorough enough job when he gave the estimate.  I told him that the other guy said it was pretty bad and that it was not torched enough and he could lift big teeth over the edge.  Then Foothill told maybe I was a border line candidate for painting. I was not even a border line candidate for painting unless it was re-roofed.  I don’t think they accurately assessed me. He was punctual and has a lot of experience. I am glad that he did not do the job. He would have covered up with some paint. I will not use this company in the future."

"The first guy came over and took pictures on an ipad and gave an estimate. I have tile on the first portion of the roof and then the rest is a graded flat roof. He entered the roof from the front meaning he walked on the tiles. After the repairs we completed, we had another big storm and the roof leaked where the tiles were. I later learned you are not supposed to walk on tile. I think he may have disturbed something causing the new leak. He was professional and explained all of the costs, showed me photos. The actual repair person came while I was at work and did the repairs. He sent pictures of all of the completed work. The leak that I called for repair was repaired and never leaked again. He cleaned up the roof as well. I was happy with this. I tried contacting them again but never received a reply. Overall, they got the job done but I believe more care should be taken on a tile roof. I think they should be more responsive to emails because I would have used them again. They were responsive to the initial scheduling and consultation but after that, I could not get a reply."
