"It was excellent. We have used two other contractors long ago for major work, both either incompetent or a crook. One of them was so bad that the work caused major rotting in our 1830s house. CHS fixed all of that. They came early, stayed until 5:00, except when rain delays led them to stay until 7:00 to get the work done. The crew was exceptionally experienced. They saved our house."

"They came as a three worker unit which for a single job or a simple repair would be too many people costing more than it should. I had a 24'x6' old porch ceiling with soffit vinyl needing replacement and a crawl area beneath the house with perhaps 3 feet of clearance. The utilities and sewer drain came up from the ground and were protected by a 6'x6' heated enclosure that needed insulation. During the winter the animals would dig into this and pull down the existing fiberglass batting and make their nest beneath the house. Neither job was by itself terribly hard but for one person which is what one expects when looking for a handyman they were pains (especially the crawl space box which required hours kneeling.) "Locke it In" completed both jobs well and met their cost estimate. The ceiling vinyl looks great. The crawl space box is covered in silvered R-13 Sheathing that I hope the wild life cannot use for bedding come the winter."

On the back sliding glass door, Skip noticed that the screen did not close properly and there was a flaw on the hardware of the door which needs to be replaced. I believe Andrea in their office has ordered said items and we are now waiting to hear when they will be fitted."

He came to my house within 24 hours, understood the problems much better than others, quoted me a fair price in writing on the spot, and had the work done within a week. After working to get another company to do the work for 3 months, this was a breath of fresh air. Also, there was some follow up inside work for when I was ready and I didn’t have to chase him down for that. He was very proactive in reaching out to me for a date. Whenever I called or texted him, he responded right back, even on the weekends. I endorse KCM Construction."

"It was all right. Competitive quote, but then $2500 in additional costs were added on discovery of former cedar shingle roof under the existing asphalt shingles. Understandable. Small leak in previous roof was fixed; all dry through the winter. BUT: Removal of old roof was VERY messy. Crew did not tarp off areas below well enough; we were removing nails from our lawn and driveway for MONTHS afterwards, and even lost a tire to an errant nail. Siding and deck were scuffed and dinged from falling materials, with only some cleanup. Gutters were left filled with grit and debris, despite numerous reminders to clean them. Crew (from away) worked very hard, came back to clean up (mostly), and were done in two days, including some work after dark. Still, due to the mess, would not recommend for jobs requiring a white-glove touch like historic properties or homes with new paint jobs."
