"The entire experience was flawless and pleasant (as pleasant as dealing with sewage clogging could be) I called, waited for less than minute, got a same-day appointment scheduled. The crew arrived on time, the conversation was professional and polite, they performed the required work quickly and fixed the issue. Highly recommended !!!"

"They showed up exactly when they said they would, finished the job faster than expected, cleaned up very nicely after themselves, and charged exactly what we discussed prior to the job. They were excellent!"

"Absolutely Do Not Trust ProSeptic – Scammers and Backyard Wreckers We hired ProSeptic to pump our septic tank. When they arrived, they claimed our leach field was failing and warned we could face fines if we didn’t replace it. Pressured, we agreed to a $10,000 job. Midway through, after tearing up our yard, they told us the system “wouldn’t work” and pushed a different one—for $30,000. We refused. What followed felt like sabotage. The work was sloppy, our yard was left a wreck, and our kids can’t even play back there anymore. It was fine before. It’s obvious they use bait-and-switch tactics: hook you with one price, then pressure you into paying much more. If you don’t cave, you’re left with garbage work. Avoid ProSeptic at all costs—they’re not just unprofessional, they’re predatory."

"On April 21, 2018, Ernest Serghi of American Plumber, LLC gave an estimate to replace the existing 1.5” underground gas line from the gas meter to the pool heater. This line is buried 30”. I told him that I wanted a 1.5” poly gas pipe buried 18” which was specified by the Holmdel plumbing inspector. He agreed to this and I signed the contract. On May 9, 2018, Ernest came to do the job and dug a narrow trench with a small hand-operated trenching machine and rolled out the yellow poly gas line, I measured the depth immediately and told Ernest that it was only about 12” deep and I wanted it 18” deep as he had agreed to. Ernest said the Code only requires a 12” depth and refused to dig the trench deeper. Ernest did the job in just 2 hours since he did not dig the trench 18 inches as he had agreed to. I have photographic evidence that in one area the gas line is only 9 inches deep. This is a violation of NJ Fuel Gas Code 404.9 that specifies a minimum burial depth of 12”. On May 10, 2018, the Holmdel plumbing inspector looked at the job quickly and approved it. However, he failed to measure the depth of the gas line and did not realize that it did not meet the minimum burial depth required by the Code. In the contract job description, Ernest did not specify in writing the 18” burial depth of the gas line that he had agreed to. I should have required this wording since Ernest did not honor our verbal agreement. I have contacted American Plumber, LLC several times in an attempt to have them correct the code violation and adjust the contract price to reflect the work that was actually done. Instead of trying to correct their error, American Plumber, LLC is demanding payment in full and filed with the Clerk of Monmouth County a Notice of Unpaid Balance and Right to File Lien against my property. I have filed complaints about this unscrupulous and dishonest contractor Ernest Serghis of American Plumber, LLC with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau."

"We highly recommend Steven at Mainstream Plumbing & Heating. Our first experience with Mainstream Plumbing & Heating was in 2020 during Covid when we lost hot water in our house. Our previous plumber went out of business and luckily Steven was available. He diagnosed the issue and explained that we needed a new water heater. Even though supply was tight, he was able to find a new Rheem water heater and install it quickly. We previously bought a warranty extension kit for our old water heater and even though previous plumber installed it, Steven promised to file claim with manufacturer to reclaim money for us. We were pleasantly surprised that Steven contacted us a few months later to give us the warranty money that he recovered. We are extremely grateful for his honesty and integrity! Throughout the years he has fixed the toilet flush valves in 2 of our bathrooms, fixed clogged bathroom sink and replaced the drain and replaced a leaking shower fixture. Most recently he troubleshooted the loss of water pressure in our kitchen and discovered that the shut off valves had failed and discharged debris towards the faucet causing a blockage issue. Steven’s work is impeccable and he is always prompt, clean and utilizes the best materials. He explains the problem clearly and provides fair estimates given his expertise and quality of work. We highly recommend Steven and look forward to continue working with him for all our plumbing needs!"

"Water heater gave up the ghost. I called name on sticker from when installed by prior owner, but plumber had apparently retired, so I suppose Slattery bought his list or got calls routed to his company. They did send out guys pretty quickly but I could soon sense that they had me over a barrel, with no hot water, as I was provided quotes that obviously were inflated, going from about 2.5K to over 4K for a new tank. I told them I'd discuss with wife and that they could leave, so I called another plumber and got the work quickly done with a new heater for 1K under lowest quote from Slattery."
