"A1 and Andrew were great. Returned my call right away, gave me a fair bid, what I should expect, and a date to come out. They called ahead of time, and did quality work. Don’t hesitate to use them. I got lucky. I found out I had lung cancer and did a radon test. Don’t hesitate to do a radon test, and use A1 if appropriate. Thanks."

"Ron's a nice guy, knows his business and does a good job. After completion of his work he cleans up the work area before leaving. He guarantees his work and runs a radon test to assure the radon level is acceptable. Thanks Ron and thank you Home Advisor for putting the two of us together."

"Rapid Restoration was excellent to work with on a water damage issue I had discovered. They worked with me on cleaning an affected surface as well as air quality testing so we could have exact information for the best health of the home. They were able to get started the same day and were professional and wonderful to work with from the first phone call through the completion of the job. Chad is very knowledgeable and his crew was great. It turned out that we did not need to take additional steps for remediation because the diagnostics came back without concerns. I appreciated that this team had the skill and abilities to provide information and work up possible plans from "best case to worst case scenario" then take the most fitting action. We found a perfect result for the home at much lower cost than could have been the case without such an honest exam. I had two other companies out to look and Rapid stood out in terms of timing, communication, assessment, and an efficient plan. I couldn't be happier and will definitely call them again and highly recommend them!"

"Kale with Radon-B-Gone, LLC did an exceptional job and brought our radon gas level down from 6.9 in the basement to 0.5 Radon-B-Gone, LLC was the low bidder although others agreed to match his bid after it was made. We are very pleased with the work and would recommend Radon-B-Gone, LLC to anyone with higher radon gas levels."

"Very precise in first measuring the level of Radon present, and although well within suggested limits, per my insistence, turned our Passive system into an Active system by installing a fan in the attic to ensure any Radon would be exhausted into the air despite our overly long piping. Working was done quickly and monitoring was explained by Dan and he also provided a pre-paid test kit to check the level of Radon after the fan and monitor were installed."

"I could not be more pleased with Brad, of Ark Home Inspections' service. I was able to make an appointment on just a few days notice. Brad arrived on time and well prepared. He was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I am a single, first-time home buyer. Brad explained things in a way that made the concepts easy to understand. He also explained the reasoning behind what he was looking at and why. The inspection was very comprehensive, he did scans for moisture on the walls, infrared scans for evidence of heat loss, and walked me through room by room explaining everything he was doing. He got out the ladder for inspecting the roof and chimney and took photos of any concerns he found. He also showed me how to operate the main water & gas shut-offs, and where the sewer clean-out was located and what it's for, things I wouldn't have know how to do otherwise. He gave me estimates on the life remaining on the major systems in the house; furnace, hot water heater, roof etc., which is very helpful for future planning. My inspection was on a Friday afternoon, which took around 3 hours and still Brad emailed the full final report with photos the next morning. Brad left me feeling confident to make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase this house."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Young-America, MN

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
