"I had an old water heater (was in the house when I moved in about 20 years ago) and it started to leak. After shutting off the water to the water heater, I did a little Angie's List research to find a company to do the replacement. I called a couple and decided to use Randy Lane, based on cost and my interaction with them, which I felt was cordial and helpful, and made an appointment.
The service person arrived on time on the day of the appointment and went to work. He disconnected the old heater and hauled it out. The new heater was brought in and he did the needed plumbing work to connect the water and also made the natural gas connections. He fired up the unit and briefed me on the new unit - how to turn-off the water and gas, if needed, temperature, etc.
The area was left in the same condition as when he arrived.

"I didn't like them very well. The quality was okay, and I got charged a bundle more because I had not had the sprinkler system going year after year, which is understandable. But he did something that he said he would not charge for, and they took it off my credit card without my permission and I was not happy with them when I saw my credit card statement. I don't appreciate people using my card without my authorization, it is not professional, and I think they still owe me money back for that service."

"I was not too pleased with the service provided. I purchased the special deal Angie's List offered -- $75 for whole lawn aeration, and their customer service was pretty poor. I purchased the service on March 11, and I expected to be contacted for scheduling an appointment. The first I heard from them was on April 9, with a message saying they would begin providing services in a couple of weeks. I called, and they said they weren't making appointments, just going out and doing the properties one by one. Then I heard nothing from them for several weeks, and I figured I would know when they had done the service because I would see the little plugs of dirt that get left behind. Nothing showed up and I heard nothing from them, so I contacted them again on May 19, and they said they had completed my property on April 21, but the person who did it must have forgotten to leave a note behind announcing they had been there. I asked them why I didn't see any plugs, and they said, oh, your property was too small to use the big aerator, so we used the small spike aerator that doesn't pull anything up. I wondered if they were just giving me a line, but my lawn does seem much improved, so I'll have to take them at their word. But the poor  customer service leads me to say I won't be using these folks again.
