"The gentleman that came out so that he could measure was very nice, very professional. He measured with an apparatus that had a wheel and would tell you how many yards of feet it is. Before he did all that he explained everything that was going to happen and he told me that I had 30 days in order to make my mind before the price would change. He tried to get me an idea of how soon they could do it for me because they were backlogged. Then whenever they had a chance to slip me in because somebody else had ordered something that had to be fitted in, it was a special order and it did not come in on time, so they got me in. As soon as they did that they came back out so that I could sign the contract and pay them. When they came in they measured again and they must have called either the water company or the electric company and may be both so that they would know where the lines are because they had little sticks on my ground which showed where some of my power and water lines are. Then they came out the first day and put in just the posts and had those cemented in, then they came out the next day and did the wire fencing and finished off the top of it. They did not leave one solitary thing, not one little thing as a mess. They were just professionals from the beginning to the end. When he gave me an approximate date when they could come in, my mum in the meantime had fallen and broken her arm. One of things that we were trying to do was to get the backyard enclosed because my fell because of her dog. His leash kind of knocked her over. So when all this happened I called them and explained the situation and asked them if there was anywhere possible that they could do it as soon as possible. That is why it got done three weeks ahead of time. All they needed was a day and half to do it. They worked with me."

"First of all, I would highly recommend my sales person (Joe H.) who helped me so much with the planning.  He had been an installer for Biviano in years past and was very knowledgeable.  In addition to that, he's a very nice person --- no pressure ---just wanted to make sure that I got what I wanted. <br /> The installers, Brian P. and Jerry F. were also great.  They were both professional and made sure that things were done well.  They worked steadily (just breaking for lunch) and kept things tidied up as much as possible as they worked.  The job had been estimated to take two days; Brian came back on day 3 and worked a few hours.  I had a dental appt. scheduled for that third day and left Brian at my house so that he would have sufficient time to finish.  When I returned, he had left and everything was in order, including the garage where his sawing had been done --- the floor had been swept and no evidence of sawing remained!!  When I had moved one of my small end tables the day before, one of the legs had loosened.  Brian had taken the time to fix that for me too. :)  I highly recommend Biviano Carpet One if you're in the market for new flooring.  In fact, my old floor had also been done by them; that's why I returned (40 years later!) <br />"

"We ended up going to another place first, We were going to go with them, ONLY because I didn't know about Marrett....I called my mom who told me to go check this company out. We went and were met by Marian. She was SO patient and educated on what would work for us. She showed us the flooring we ended up going with, BUT, I was being stubborn from Pinteresting too much...Enter my mom, she came with me the second time and pointed out the same flooring Marian showed us....and started the motherly "You won't regret this flooring" And Marian gave me the information on the flooring and I started to fall in love more and more. She let me take it home to see it on our flooring and we love it SO much, once our remodel is done, we will be doing our bedrooms in the same flooring. Yes, it IS a bit more expensive, BUT, I have bought from Lowes and Home Depot my whole life and I've always had issues and ended up spending the same amount with repairs and ripping flooring out to redo it. The extra few bucks on this company (it also depends on your choice, we went higher end) is WORTH IT!!! We are going to be doing our kitchen and we are going there for our counter tops and we are also getting carpet from them in our living room, THAT is how satisfied my husband and I are with this company. DO NOT waste time at Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc .Go to a reputable company, Marrett won't disappoint you."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Youngstown, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
