"Fermin and his crew painted the top two floors of the house. Fermin was very flexible and clear when providing the quote, punctual when the work started, and the job was done carefully and skillfully. I would definitely hire Fermin's crew again."

"Fantastic service. They had a cancellation and was able to schedule me quickly. Most of the downstairs was hardwood and we had planned to just have them refinish it since the previous owners of the house used Orange glow on the floors and ruined them horribly. The living room was the only downstairs room with carpet that needed to be replaced. We were going to replace it with more carpet but was surprised by the cost to carpet just that one room. JH was able to give me a quote to add hardwood to the living room too that would match the rest of the downstairs for not much more than carpet. Even with adding that extra task they still finished on schedule and within the quoted budget and the floor looks amazing. Everyone who sees the floors comments on how beautiful they look. Could not be more pleased."

James Reynolds Sr was born December 16th 1931 in Raleigh. He went to college and played basketball for Mars Hill College, a Baptist college in Mars Hill near Asheville, NC.\n\nAfter college he worked at Mallinckrodt but left his VP position there when he was 28 years old for the business venture at Ace Rug Cleaning. Raleigh was a growing market at that time for rug and carpet cleaning. There were very few if any cleaning companies offering those services, so it was a perfect opportunity to be a pioneering leader in the rug cleaning and carpet industry.\nThe Reynolds Family, led by Jim Jr and his wife Jennifer, still runs Ace Rug Cleaning today and can be found on the front lines on a daily basis serving their customers in the proud tradition established by James Sr so many years before them.\n\nIf you’re looking for a carpet cleaner you can trust, a carpet cleaner operating an ethical business with an eye toward traditional values, we hope you’ll consider Ace Rug Cleaning. 919-832-2275\nAdditional contact name - James J Reynolds.

"Kimi's Carpets Plus was great! They stood by their product and their work, ultimately providing us a wonderful carpet (despite a materials-related setback that wasn't their fault). When we needed carpet in our bedroom & closets, we went to their showroom & selected carpet that seemed perfect for us, but when it was installed, it turned out that this new carpet style from Shaw hadn't been completely tested out. It didn't "seam up" properly, i.e., no matter what the installers tried, they couldn't get rid of a visible seam across the length of the room. The carpet came in a 12-foot roll and the room was wider than 12 feet, so the carpet had to have a seam, which is normally completely invisible. This new carpet style, though, had loop pile so close together and with a distinct enough diagonal pattern that matching the seam was impossible. Cutting the edge close enough to match the diagonal pattern meant not leaving enough backing to hold the loop in, so it would pull out. Apparently Shaw didn't test out installation well in the design & manufacture of that carpet style. When Kimi's operations manager was the final installation, he immediately agreed that the seam was too visible and agreed to replace the carpet. We selected another style -- one that the installers assured us would "seam up"! -- and Kimi's came and installed it with no problem. It was apparently covered by Shaw's materials warranty and also Kimi's installation warranty. The installers were friendly and professional; they did a fine job (both times, aside from the materials problem). We'd happily use Kimi's again and we recommend them."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Youngsville, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
