"Had an electrician out to give me an estimate on replacing my electrical panel. Decided against replacing it because that wouldn't have solved my issue. My house was built in the 60's so it needs all new wiring. I just had him show me which outlets were on each of the channels so that I could spread out my devices that needed a lot of power, specifically my space heaters."

"I needed my evaporative cooler hooked up to the electrical panel. Carlos Camarena did a full evaluation, noted things that were not to code, worked up an estinate with three price options, and went to work that day after a contract was signed. The work was finisged the next day by 2 of his coworkers. Carlos Camarena is knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and clearly loves what he does and the company he works for. A pleasure to hire him and Home Team Electric's team"

"I just got off the phone with Steve, who quickly responded to my request for an electrician I made on Wednesday, day before Thanksgiving. He requested we talk on the phone and he could possibly assist with a quick fix. Everything he asked me to check and do, I already had done on the night I lost power. However, I went to the circuit breaker, telling him I was planning to shut down everything and power every switch back up again, hoping I missed something. As I did, I felt one switch was slightly wiggly, as he suggested I possibly would find. I purposely pull that switch off, then on. As he correctly predicted and suggested, all power restored. He stayed on the phone as I checked every wall outlet affected, finding each working. His knowledge, experience and honesty on a quick fix was priceless. He was quick to help with nothing attached or an agenda for a review, I suggested it. Thank you for your help and patience, having to listen to my story on how I blew up my walls."

"As usual with Garafano Electric, everything went fine -- way more than fine, actually. We have used them for years on various upgrades to our 1920's mediterranean home. William, the owner, is great about explaining our options and always finds the best and most efficient way to work within the confines of an older two-story duplex on a sloped lot that has serious access issues. Pricing is fair, they have never failed to show up on the appointed day, and on time, and complete the job as agreed. They have never disappointed for over 20 years, and I recommend them without hesitation!"

"Just purchased a duplex that had been "flipped".  Meaning the "repairs" and "restorations" performed were done poorly and in the case of the wiring, it was very substandard.
DSJ did very good, quality work.  Knows his trade well.
Immediately let me know when he found a dangerous flaw in the wiring (it WAS obvious when he pointed it out) and offered two solutions that met code.
I have since hired him for a second re-wiring job where they found and corrected another very dangerous wiring job.  Both of these flaws were obvious when he showed them to me.  I never felt they were trying to "upsell" the job.  I felt they honestly wanted to just do a good job and leave me with a safe wiring electrical system.
Not cheap and worth every penny.  I have learned that when contracting
work one really does get what one pays for...cheap contractor = cheap
work.

"Outstanding service. Very fast, very professional, competitive pricing. At every step of the way they went above and beyond. Upgraded main panel, sub panel, and some wiring and outlets. Everything was top quality, clean, and fast. Highly recommended."

"When we decided to get recessed lighting in our family room, we knew we would call Raymond and his team at Excellence Electric. They had done an amazing job completely replacing our old electrical panel a few years ago. As we expected, Raymond got back to us in a very timely manner, and he and his team started the work immediately thereafter. His team consists of very skilled technicians who can do it all. They even did the drywall repair. Once they did the job in our front room, it looked so incredible, we had them do the whole house. What a difference it has made! It was the single most amazing upgrade we could have made to our home. Many thanks to the fantastic team at Excellence. They were all professional, efficient, and so incredibly nice. The peace of mind we have knowing that we can rely on Excellence for all our electrical needs and issues is beyond measure."

"Called M.Y. Electrical for a 200 amp panel upgrade estimate. Luis came out the next day and had a very clear explanation of what need to be done and the timeframe involved, along with a very fair estimate. The crew: Luis, Jesus, Michael and Miguel came out a few days later to do the job. I am impressed, everyone on the crew did excellent work. Due to their knowledge and work ethics they made it stress free for me. Luis took care of obtaining the proper permits. He also informed me through texts of their arrival times, and inspection times, and being here during inspection. After electrical work was completed Javier repaired the stucco, also well done. Very happy I chose M.Y. Electrical and Louis and his crew to do the work!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Yucca Valley, CA

A whole-house surge protector blocks voltage spikes from lightning, grid issues, or even large appliances before they can fry your wiring or electronics. By diverting excess current at the main panel, it shields everything from your HVAC to your phone chargers and can extend the life of pricey appliances. Homeowners in storm-prone regions or with older panels see the biggest payoff, but any home that relies on sensitive electronics benefits.

Most whole-house surge protectors work for two to three years. Low-level spikes—too small to notice—hit your panel every day and slowly wear down the internal components. Once the unit’s capacity is depleted, it can’t prevent a larger surge, so plan to replace it on schedule (or sooner if a major lightning strike occurs) to keep your electronics and HVAC equipment safe.

A surge protector begins guarding your circuits the moment an electrician snaps it into place. Whether the spike originates from a nearby lightning strike or your fridge kicking on, the protector shunts the extra current to ground before it can reach outlets or hard-wired systems, such as your AC. That instant response is why a small upfront cost can save thousands in appliance repairs.

The unit mounts on or next to your main electrical panel. Type 1 models sit on the supply side, catching outside spikes before they hit the breaker. Type 2 devices snap inside the panel and tame surges that start within the house. Either way, placement at the panel lets the protector guard every circuit at once.

Plan to swap the device every three to five years—or sooner if you upgrade your panel, add high-demand appliances, or notice flickering lights and tripped breakers. Relying on a maze of power strips is another red flag that your current setup isn’t keeping up. Replacing the surge protector at these milestones keeps your electrical system on safe footing.
