"i called dave on a wed (oct 1st) and he responded back within 15 minutes. He met me at the house that night and we ordered the carpet (berber and plush) and his crew began installation on Friday the 3rd! I am very pleased with all aspects and couldn't have asked for a quicker response time or a better installation. I will definitely hire this company in the near future for the family house! <br />"

"You can't go wrong with them, but they are definitely more pricey. They do perfect work. They have two locations now that they opened a second location in Boston. They send out two guys to pick them up from your house. They deliver it back and then they unroll it. They move furniture and stuff like that. I think they only do cleaning for customers who have bought rugs for them though. I absolutely love them though."

"After the carpets dried, I noticed the Tech did not overlap his cleaning head enough on each pass. What was left on our tan carpets are darker colored stripes where the edge of the cleaning head was pulled along. <br /> <br /> After posting this review, I called Jimmy Stuarts to see if they would help me resolve the streaks on the carpets. <br /> <br /> I was greeted with a friendly receptionist who seemed to already be aware of my issues and forwarded me immediately to a manager. The manager explained that the streaking sometimes happens and they would be happy to come out and address the two rooms that had the issues. <br /> <br /> He further indicated that Angie's List reviews were important to them and he had wished I had called before posting. <br /> <br /> Aside from the initial streaking problem, I give Jimmy Stuart's full credit for how they handled the follow-up. The Tech arrived on time, was friendly and did a fine job removing the streaking in the carpet with his cleaning equipment. <br /> <br /> Overall, I was happy with how the company responded to my request for a follow-up. These service issues can happen to any company, it is how they respond to them that shows the character of the business. I would recommend Jimmy Stuarts based on their response. <br /> <br /> The initial review has been adjusted to reflect the how well the company handled the follow-up."

"The carpets are high in quality but were low in price (compared to ones we saw at a couple other stores).  All the work was done on schedule, just as promised, which is not always the case in home repairs.  The only glitch was that after the carpet was installed, one door wouldn't close properly where the carpet met tile,  so we had to hire somebody to adjust the door.  That problem may have been caused, however, by original faulty installation of the tile, not by the installation of the new carpet.  All in all, we are very satisfied with the job. <br />"

"I cannot say enough accolades about Bart's Flooring & Carpet Center. From the moment my husband and I stepped foot in the showroom, I knew we were in the right place. I needed to replace an old, worn kitchen floor, and Jeff knew exactly what I was trying to achieve with the new one. We anticipated putting in vinyl planking; however, Jeff suggested a hardwood-looking linoleum flooring he already had in stock. It was exactly the look I had been searching for! Steve, the installation guru, did a phenomenal job with the install - even removing the old vinyl that was down and replacing all appliances and furniture in their exact location when the job was done - all in one day! I will definitely be recommending Bart's to everyone I know!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Assonet, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
