"It went great. The salesman, Heywood, was fantastic and went above and beyond to make everything right. Taylor, in the office, was fantastic with returning calls and calling me to check-in to ensure everything was done on schedule and correctly. The flooring installers did a great job and their painter did a very good job painting the baseboards and stair risers. I found Mr. Hardwood to be very professional and thorough."

"<p>Contacted Dalton Carpet One about a bathroom remodel.  Designer Lauren Harrell came to our house and did some measurements and we discussed some initial ideas.  We met a few days later at the business and Lauren had pulled out some sample tiles and had put together a plan that we agreed on.  Dalton Carpet One was then able to draw up a computer sketch of the plan so we could get a better idea of how the finished project would look.  After all agreeing on tile color and style, we received a printed detailed quote for materials and labor. We then finalized the decision that Dalton Carpet would do the job.  Dalton called and we set a date to do the remodel.  On the date, the installer came on time as promised and was very professional and used every precaution to keep the bathroom remodel in the bathroom and not do any harm to the other parts of the house. (This was an upstairs bathroom so he had to make a lot of trips up and down the steps.)  He kept me informed on his progress all along and how we wanted the shower to look.  Used the Schluter Shower system which is the best to help reduce any chance of shower leakage. ( The orange board and sealer strips like on many of the home shows.)  Changed out the shower head that I purchased and also installed tile backsplash on three walls around a jet tub.  This remodel took a whole week and during the week we had different representatives from Dalton Carpet One coming by and checking the progress, helping the installer and making sure the job was going to our liking and if we had any concerns.  </p> <p>The one thing I would like to add to this review is that if you are looking online and trying to decide who might do a flooring job or tile bathroom remodel for you then I'd say Dalton Carpet One is the type business you will want to do business with.  They have done all that we agreed on, the way we agreed on (no change of design or cost) and they did it in a professional way at the time they said they would do it.  </p> <br />"

"I hired Royal Carpet cleaning for $200.00 on the phone, When he arrived he told me he has increased the price and will now be charging $230.00. I was in a hurry so I decided to pay for it. The work was OK. It used to be better"

"Lewis Co. Does a great job with installation of flooring. We had a couple of small mishaps, but the owner himself came out and helped fix them. I would recommend this company to anyone! And their prices were very reasonable!"

"<p>The way they clean carpets works very well and smells pleasant. The carpet is not left soggy or wet. They were very professional and did a great job! I liked the fact the cleaner they use is all natural with no harsh chemicals since I have dogs. They even gave me a free bottle of the cleaner they make and use for free! </p>"

"Daniel helped match the wood floor stain color to my existing hardwoods.  He was able to start very quickly after the wood arrived.  Installation was completed in 1 day, everything was cleaned up and furniture moved back into place. <br />"

"I have used this company twice. Once to install carpet in masterbed room, which was a last minute decision and needed to get it done before our bathroom renevation. They were great to work with and were able to get our installation in the very next day. I have since had two other bed rooms carpeted. They are a pleasure to work with. Pricing is good, professional, good quality work. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Athens, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
