"My husband and I highly recommend Low Country Chimney Sweeps for any work you may need done with regard to fireplaces and chimneys. We recently moved to HHI and looking up one day discovered our cap chimney was rusted and “holy.” We looked on “Angie’s List” (our go to site for such things) and discovered Low Country Chimney Sweeps. We “messaged” and got a quick reply from Ben the owner of the company. He came out the very next day to replace the cap. When it was found "up on the roof" that we needed an oddball size, he special ordered one for us and followed up with us as soon as it came in which was only a day or two later. We were very happy with the price quoted. Ben was polite, professional and very skilled. Communication was wonderful and he was excellent at showing up at the times he told us he would be there. We have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending Low Country Chimney Sweeps to anyone needing a new chimney cap, cleaning or repair. We would hire them again if we needed additional work in this area."

"RPI said they used their own crews but they had sub contracted a crew to install my roof (All Roofing companies do this). After the old roof was removed and it was dried in, they came back the next day and were installing shingles in the rain on a wet roof. I had to ask them to stop and come back the next day when it was not raining. The GAF Cobra2 Ridge vents were installed incorrectly, Only one side of the ridge was cutout on all the ridges. I had to ask them to do them over. One of the ridges was overcut + 3 inches on each side where the vent was not even supported properly. That was the main roof. I had to get another manager involved, convince them it was not installed correctly, then took over a month to get them back with a crew and the proper materials to correct the problem. They used top quality materials and the end result turned out great after the ridge vent issue was corrected so I'm giving a B rating."

"We had water leaking into our home from the roof. The work crew came out and did the repair. We later noticed that water was still leaking in one part of the house and once we contacted them again, they came back out and repaired it. The job was completed to our satisfaction. We would hire them again."

"They did a really good job on our roof. They did the job in a timely manner and it looks really good. There was an incident with them breaking a piece off my gate, but they replaced it with no problems."

"It went pretty good.  They failed to replace water diverters but returned within a few days to re-install after I called.  The new roof looks good, however, many pots and planters on the back side of our home were move around the patio away from the house and not returned but were placed in the yard.  Our BBQ grill was also moved to the yard and the cover was coated in mud and sand from it raining the whole weekend after the roof was installed.  I have found to date about 12-15 roofing nails around the house. One of these was found on the driveway. I also picked up several cigarette butts. We hope that's all the nails. Otherwise we are satisfied with the quality of the work. <br />"

"I contacted Mike to perform a punch list in a home prior to moving in.  The list included a number of items including: paint a room repair a drawer that won't stay shut refurbish some hardwood scratches caulk a bathtub and some crown molding install a doggie door install some fencing install a mail box install a cover for a dryer vent install a hose from washer to dryer install a number of smoke detectors install doorbell install a vent cover install some lighting that was removed repair a ceiliing in a shower and fix lighting tuck in some tube lighting repair a door with broken glass install some fencing fix an electrical snafu on the box Fix some cracks in the drywall and repaint Pressure wash house and repair some gaps outside in the finish Repair some rotting by the door Fix a window that would not open and was rusting and leaking I provided Mike the information from the Home Inspection and asked for an estimate of hours.. He works hourly.  I got an estimate only for pressure wash.. 8 to 12 hours at $45 per hour.  Although this was high for the pressure wash, I decided to go with him for timeliness and convenience.   He did the pressure washing and a temp repair of the broken glass within 5 days of our original meeting.  He also did the installation of the doggie door and the hose for the washer.  The cost for these services was over $800   I was surprised when 4 days after this service, he contacted me to let me know that I needed to purchase the glass for the door from Lowes in order to proceed.   This was after I had paid for original services and contrary to initial agreement.  Our first meeting was the week of 3/13, and the glass was not installed in the door until 4/8.  The only services actually performed were:  Pressure Wash ( premium price paid), Glass installed (money saved compared to other estimates), Doggie door installed ( average cost), mail box installed ( average cost) and hose installed (average cost). This fellow is knowledgeable, skilled and would be excellent to work with if he has the time to do work for you.  Had he done all of the items contained in scope of work, I think I would be giving him a 3 thumbs up.  However, he does caretaker work, and has gotten a lot of referrals from Anglie's list reviews.  I don't think he has the time or resources to keep up.  His caretaker responsibilities will have to take priority...   Discuss this with him in advance before you commit."

"The original company I hired for this repair decided they were not able to fabricate the type of chimney cap needed, so they referred me to WilliamSmith. When WilliamSmith came out to measure for the cap, they told that there was rot under the cap and several feet of chimney might need to be rebuilt. I brought the original company back for an assessment and they found no rot. After several weeks and a few scheduling delays (rain, and some miscommunication between the two contractors), the old chimney cap was removed - no rot was found - and the new cap installed. As far as I know, everything up there is fine, but since I can't inspect the area myself it is nerve-racking to second guess these guys."
