"Before I tried Safeguard, I had a contract with a national exterminating company. I liked the technician and they promptly came to my house, whenever I asked, yet they failed to solve the problem. My house was infested with some type of fly. They must have come a dozen times without any discernible success. So, I canceled the contract and looked for a locally owned business. That's when I found Safeguard. The technician came, and although he did similar things, he was far more thorough, treated the whole house, not just to place where we had the most flies, and the results were dramatic. And by the way, their price is considerably lower. I wholeheartedly recommend Safeguard."

"Amazing price point and couldn't ask for more when it comes to his professionalism/work ethics. Not only did he spray down the house for bugs but he also went out of his way to repair some siding on my house that was falling without me asking him to. Damon has truly set the bar for all contractors. If you're looking for the best pest control contractor, Damon is your guy."

"Called Anthony about a problem with wasps.  Anthony was quick to respond, arrived on time, inspected the area, provided the estimate and finished the job in the estimated time.  Anthony was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly.  Would recommend Big Ant?s Termite & Pest Control.

"Company was professional and came out, inspected and set traps for mice. Signed on for 60 day warranty to have follow up visits for routine inspection. Continued to call and state problem was not resolved and stated to individual who came out for follow on inspections. After several calls had another individual come out and inspect. Said we were likely dealing with squirrels and not mice. Said we should seal house and there was nothing further they could help with. Problem still is not resolved and working with new pest company to resolve the issue."

"provided initial extermination of pests (roaches and rodents).  I love the response time from the time i submitted the question from Angie's site to Modern, the rep, Dave contacted me the next day to talk about what i needed and indicated he could have some come out right away--which is what i wanted.
there was a little snag in the technician's arrival time, but when I called the office to confirm that the technician would still be arriving, the gentleman answering the phone indicated there was a mix up and the technician was on his way.
My majority age daughter was home when the technician visited and she indicated he was thorough.
I must admit trying to get follow up info on scheduling monthly service and whether or not they'll give me a credit for the next service has had a wrinkle, with no follow up (sent email asking for credit on next service since the provider offered a coupon at time of service, and while I mentioned it in our coordinating discussions, my daughter--who can't remember anything if it's not relative to her world) :) forgot to give the tech the coupon.
I also called this morning (10/14) asking for a schedule and price and was told tech would return call but didn't receive by end of business (10/14)
I realize that when you're on the go and trying to manage communications things slip through the cracks; I believe this is a family owned business and i highly support family owned small businesses over the big guy/gal businesses, so I'll be patient for a couple more days.

FAQs for rodent pest control service projects in Berlin, NJ

Rodent exclusion seals every gap, vent, and crack that rodents use to sneak inside your home. Most homeowners pay an average of $200 to $600 for this add-on. By blocking entry points, you create a long-term barrier that cuts down on repeat infestations and helps protect both your family and your property.

Pros start with an inspection, then place tamper-resistant bait stations and traps in high-traffic spots. They’ll also seal entry points and clean droppings to reduce health risks. Follow-up visits confirm that the plan worked and that no new rodents have moved in. This step-by-step approach removes the current infestation and helps keep your home rodent-free going forward.

A trained pest-control pro can pinpoint hidden access points using a flashlight, thermal imaging, and plenty of crawl-space sleuthing. During an inspection, the specialist maps every gap, vent, or pipe run that rats use, then explains how to seal each one. This detailed report lets you tackle the weak spots immediately and dramatically lowers the odds of another infestation.

Rodent prevention starts with managing food and entry points. Store pantry items in airtight containers, take out trash promptly, and keep pet food sealed. Outside, trim vegetation and stack firewood away from the house. Inside, seal gaps with steel wool or hardware cloth. A tidy yard and a buttoned-up home give rats and mice few reasons—or routes—to move in.

For wall or attic nests, pros place snap traps or CO2-powered units in the exact runways rats use, then return to remove carcasses and reset as needed. Poison is risky indoors because rats may die in hidden spots, creating odors or health issues, so most technicians avoid it. Once trapping is complete, they’ll seal entry points and clean droppings to finish the job.

Plan on several weeks, especially for larger infestations. Your pro will set traps, return every few days to collect rats, and adjust placement until activity stops. Final visits include sealing access points and sanitizing affected areas. Timelines vary, but most homes are rat-free after two to four follow-ups. Prompt scheduling and good sanitation can shorten the process.
