"After purchasing our new home, we wanted to freshen it up with an interior paint job. Fortunately, we found Rick Orcutt. He gave us a detailed and very fair estimate for the work, and then his team executed the job beautifully. We were amazed by the quality of their work. Rick Orcutt is an absolute pleasure to work with. He’s punctual, responsive and professional. He makes sure work is done correctly. We would love to work with Orcutt Painting again."

"The crew from Viola Roofing were excellent, doing work aloft to replace old wooden gutters and a downspout on a house with a four story back facing the water. When I had a problem with a vibrating downspout due to the Northeast winds that strike the house across the water, Viola Roofing came back and put additional clips on the downspout for free."

"Peter and his crew were great. Peter was prompt in responding to my inquiry and came out to the house to walk through the lead report and work that needed to be done with me. He gave me a number of options for remediating things and showed me where we could do things in a less expensive manner--explaining the costs and benefits of the different approaches. For example, in one area he told me it was going to cost a significant amount for him to remediate and that it would ultimately be much cheaper for me to replace a section of wood railing instead of remediating the paint. This was to my benefit and his detriment, so I really appreciated it. His crew remediated 15 historic windows and they fixed some cracked panes of glass without my even asking. Peter was very fair, always in communication, and they completed the work promptly and professionally. I highly recommend."

"Nilson and crew did a fabulous job. House was powerwashed, shrubs covered, scraped and primed and replaced rotten wood then stained the body and painted all the while trim. He also sanded and retained our deck, April/May 2022. He is everything his website says and reviews are well deserved! Our 26 yr old home looks new again! He'll be our go to guy going forward! Great attitude and hard worker and very precise in his expertise! Linda Hatch Townsend"

"Daddy and Junior Paint is the best around! I have used them on several large and small jobs. They are the only company I call when I need work done. Rodolfo always returns my calls, shows up on time and completes a project on time or early. Every time I have used Rodolfo's services he has gone above and beyond for me. Rodolfo is also very personable and makes you feel comfortable around him and his employees. In our most recent project he drywalled three rooms which included all the walls and ceilings. Removed wallpaper and then skim coated walls. Rodolfo's finishing work with the trim was beautiful! When it came to color suggestion he walked me through the process of picking the perfect color. I will be using Daddy and Junior Paint for years to come."

"We had a great experience with Matt & the Green Valley Construction team. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the remodel, the kitchen feels like an entirely new space. The service was very professional and was able to stick to the proposed timeline despite making a handful of changes to the project along the way. We have already recommended their services to friends and family would definitely hire again for future projects!"

"Restorers Without Borders exceeded my expectations in their restoration of my late 1800’s antique mahogany men’s dresser. The service provided - in-home consultation, pick-up for delivery to their workshop, collaboration on the best stain, photos during the process, to home delivery - was exceptional. Ideally, I’ll have an opportunity to work with them again."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Boston, MA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
