"Foundation Repair leveled the decks flawlessly. On top of that, both on-site teams, quoting and install communicated clearly. The install team worked diligently. Both recognized I had problems with previous mudjacking and helped me understand why their new PolyRenewal system would be more effective. Couldn't be happier with product or services. They exceed all of my expectations, I recommend Foundation Recovery as highly as i possibly can."

"Chase and Lexa were a delight to work with. They jumped right on my message when I placed a request with Anji. They were out to our home at their and our earliest convenience. They quickly examined our problem (two hairline cracks in our foundation)) and promised to research our unique issues. Chase had to talk with a provider in Canada and order a special kit to deal with this repair. He and Lexa spent two long days at our home, and our issues were completely resolved. They are professional, friendly, hard working and keep a very clean workspace. I really appreciated that. We can highly recommend The Foundation Guys!"

"Great job! Jacob responded immediately to my call, assessed my situation, quoted a price, and established an install date. He would have done it the same day if I had wanted, but I preferred the next business day. He arrived right on time and got to work. The model wasn't one he knew but he had no trouble installing it after removing the old one. He had to replace the connecting drain pipe and install the disposal, and the final result was tidy, looked great, and worked perfectly. In the process he noticed a small problem with the dishwasher drain hose, explained it and offered to fix it as well, saying when he sees something wrong he wants to set it right. I let him do this quick job and it went well also. Jacob cleaned up and at the end and explained what to do if I had any problem with the installation or disposer. I am very happy with the work."

"Ed and his team were superior!  He had one painter that was very slow and he did not bring him back the next day.  The entire team was professional.  I work from home so they made a point to keep the noise down and to work around my schedule.  I would definitely hire them again for any repair or painting job!

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Columbia, MO

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
