"I have done a lot of home renovation projects in the past, and I wish ALL contractors were like Mike. From start to finish of this ENORMOUS project, Mike was amazing to work with. He showed up when he said he was going to show up, he responded promptly to emails and texts, and he remembered all of the little details that we discussed along the way. His estimate was accurate and included all of the components that we talked about, and then we made some adjustments to the original estimate, which were also perfectly captured. And on top of all that, his quote/estimate was one of the most reasonable ones that we received (and we got 6 quotes). He was so knowledgeable with the information and advice that he provided, and I had complete trust that he would do a superb job. We had to move out of the house while the work was ongoing. He kept in touch the entire time, providing updates regularly. I never doubted that things were going well and according to plan. He had a team of two additional guys and they were also very pleasant and very hard working. And the work that was done was unbelievable quality. It looks so beautiful - a complete transformation of the home! In addition to the flooring, we paid Mike to install new 6 inch baseboards, which was a great addition. I would recommend Mike and Universal Flooring to anyone who is considering new hardwood floors or any flooring work for that matter. We will certainly use him again in the future if ever needed. Ed had to completely rebuild two staircases before he could put down the flooring. He did a great job and the floors are absolutely beautiful. He consulted with me every step of the way and explained everything that had to be corrected."

"I have a family member who is disabled, and spends most of her time in a particular upholstered chair. The seat cushion on that chair these days was not very supportive. Yesterday my relative was out at a doctor's appointment, so I called Landry Home Decorating and spoke with Mary. I explained the situation, and asked if they might have some time either Monday (yesterday) or Weds (when Eleanor would also be away from the house) to put a new insert in the cushion while I waited. Mary checked to see if they had the right materials and enough time to complete the job. Then she said if I wanted to, I could come in right away. So! I snatched the seat cushion off the comfy chair and hopped in the car. Mary arranged for someone to take the cushion and do the work while I waited. I browsed their extensive "library" of upholstery fabric sample books, and before I knew it, the cushion was ready! Really, it couldn't have taken much more than 15 minutes, 20 at the most. I had paid while the cushion was being worked on, so as soon as it was ready, I dashed out the door for home. Luck was with me, I was able to get in and get the cushion back in place before Eleanor made it upstairs and headed for her chair. It was a nice surprise for her. So, thank you to John Landry, and Mary, and the helper who put the new insert into the cushion. You were all friendly, helpful and efficient, and really made my day. From the first meeting with Jane we knew we would want to hire her team for our bathroom remodel.

Jane arrived for the first appointment to take some measurements and get a feel for what our goals were for the bathroom. We described what features we wanted in the remodeled bathroom (bubble tub, heated floor, possible heated towel rack ...). She took lots of notes and talked about fixtures, tile, and countertops. Jane was very easy to work with. She created an estimate based on our first meeting that was within our budget with a clear breakdown and very easy to understand.

At the second meeting we were joined by Brandon and their team of contractors who would be doing the actual work. They took their time listening to what we wanted to accomplish and we all discussed the best approach to get the job done. We could move the toilet from the existing wall to an adjacent wall. The cost of moving the plumbing would be minimal and by turning the direction of the toilet it allowed us to purchase a wider tub. They also suggested repositioning the sink on our vanity. SInce our cabinates are two pieces, Brandon suggestion to move the sink from its current off-center position to a center position made the counter setup much more pleasing to the eye. With these added suggestions, Jane revised the estimate and gave us a new breakdown that was very clear and still worked within our budget.

Jane was extremely helpful picking out the material for the project. She met us at both the tile store and the counter distributer and guided us with great suggestions as to what would look great.

The highest complement I can give to Brandon, Jane and their entire team was they treated our house as if it were their own. They cleaned up every day so we could still walk comfortably around our room safely. It was a joy to work with this team and cannot wait to hire them again in the future.

They assigned different contractors to do the construction work. One of the contractors said that the job was too big and that they could not do it, which was fine. I respect that. The secretary stated that she would try to find other contractors to do the job. The owner came and walked through the house and we spoke about what needed to be done in the house. I did not feel confident in his contractor because he seemed that he did not know what he was doing. I wanted him to do one specific thing. The owner wanted to take down the whole wall. I just wanted to reopen a small section. I started to feel like they were pushing me. For those reasons I felt uncomfortable and did not go with them. The quote was detailed.
