"He was very kind, went out of his way to find the carpet that I like, showed me samples, and he got the job done in 3 days. I definitely recommend him. He gave a great price too for his service."

"In both cases the installation went smoothly and was high quality.  Even better was their personal service when we bought the carpet and flooring from them. We had tons of questions but they patiently worked with us over several months to help us figure out exactly what we needed. They were always very friendly and pleasant.  Plus, they've been in business a long time and are deeply knowledgeable about flooring. <br />"

"Fair price, very prompt both in communications and service, pleasant to deal with, overall good job.  Got the wrinkles out of a family room, although it took awhile and I didn't really get the feeling this was an area of expertise.  Small patch job was adequate, but not invisible--again, didn't seem like their specialty.  But, for carpet cleaning, I will use them again."

"Kliever's did a great job in laying my carpet and pad. I had asked Tim, the owner, if the crew could removing the old carpet and pad then place the new carpet and pad in the same day. He didn't think so. I had approximately 800 sq ft and I asked if I pulled up the old carpet and pad would that guarantee the new in place. Tim was sure they could get it done and they hauled away the old. <br /> The day of the crew of three were in shock I had pulled the old carpet and pad. They got a game plan and started laying the new pad and once that was done only one stayed and he did the cutting carpet and placing the pieces. It was a new experience for me, I had never had carpet replaced before. <br /> <br />"

"This outfit is a delight to deal with.  They showed us exactly what we asked for and were very patient with us as we chose a vinyl pattern.  They gave us multiple pieces of vinyl to take home to help with our decision.  Due to the fact that this was due to a broken pipe, we were rather stressed throughout the entire "rebuild" and Jerry could not have been easier to deal with.  His carpet/vinyl folks arrived on time and did a wonderful, professional job.  The sub-contractor that did our extra tile work was a wonderful craftman. <br />"

"Great service. Met Gary at the store and able to look at a variety of selections. He explained the different types of flooring options and how install works. We had carpet and tile work done. Scheduling was timely and the flooring looks great. Very happy with the service and staff at Tim’s. Refer them all the time as a customer and a Real Estate Agent."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Dallas, OR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
